Quick chat about my workouts from the week plus another mention of my new favorite GapFit Double Layer Strappy Shelf Tank!
The other day I showed you the Rosehip color, today I will show you the black and white.
I don’t know why they call it a “shelf tank” — this is an actual built-in bra attached to the tank top. I’ve now worn and washed both GapFit tanks a few times and can say they wash and wear really well. And, I love how this tank looks from the back!
Okay, so nothing special went on this week in workouts. Pretty uneventful I think. Four runs, one outside, three on the treadmill with a big snowstorm in between. I’m hoping this was the last of the snow though! It was nice to run outdoors yesterday!
Monday – 5 Miles
I didn’t plan on running 5 miles but I am glad that I did! My initial plan was a simple 30 minutes on the treadmill. I was tired and not in the mood for the week but I knew 30 minutes on the treadmill would make me feel better.
With no formal plan, I decided to run hills (my low point is 1.0 and then I range up and down as high as 5.0) mixed with speed to make the time pass. By 30 minutes, I figured I should keep going to 4 miles. At 4 miles I figured I would continue to 35 minutes. At 35 minutes a good song came on so I chose to continue to 40 minutes. And at 40 minutes, what was another minute to reach 5 miles?
Tuesday – 45 Min Pure Barre + 5 Min For Thighs
I chose a 45 minute Pure Barre workout today which was filmed in a live class format. And as a bonus, I concluded with that 5 minute Pure Barre for thighs workout which I always tell you about because it kills me every time. On purpose I wanted to do it because it’s my goal to make it through the 5 minutes without needing/wanting to stop! I’m getting there. Slowly.
Wednesday – 4 Miles (treadmill)
It wasn’t snowing too bad just yet so I walked over to the gym in my community. 4 miles went fast with a constant mix between hills and speed. I love being able to engage myself so much on the treadmill that I don’t even realize the time is flying by.
Thursday – 55 Min Pure Barre (arms)
There was so much snow outside that it was smarter to stay home and make it a Pure Barre day than walk over to the gym.
Friday – 30 Min Treadmill Run
30 quick minutes running on the treadmill, alternating inclines with small bursts of speed. I think I went higher with inclines today (more at 5%) than with speed but finished right over 3.5 miles at the 30 minute mark.
I stayed in the gym for a few more minutes for walking lunges and free weights. Like really quick though, not even 10 minutes.
Saturday – 7 Miles (outside!)
It was 33 degrees with sunshine so I figured I could run outside! Most of the snow was melting and I only had to be extra cautious when I was off the running path and near the cars in my community as the snow piles on some of the corners were much taller than me!
I just ran where comfortable with a few bursts of speed here and there. At the 7 mile mark, I ran easy until I reached my front door so maybe I finished around 7.60 miles. Something like that.
Sunday – Rest Day
I received an email last week asking for a listing of my Pure Barre review posts so I thought I would share my top 5 Pure Barre posts just in case you were interested and wanted to read them.

How is your weekend so far? Is the snow melting in your area, are you able to run outdoors?
Are you looking for new workout apparel for the spring/summer? What do you need?
Most of the snow is melted by me except for the big piles in parking lots and from snow plows. Fingers crossed we don’t get anymore snow! I’m going to have to try out that Gap tank, so cute!
Most of the snow has melted here but there are some sidewalks that don’t get any sun and those are icy! This morning it was freezing again so of course those spots froze. I feel like it’s worked out well for both of us this winter to be running on the treadmill so much!
Awesome paces on your long run! I need more running tees for spring/summer – I have a lot of tanks for racing/the heat of summer, but most days here a tee works well and protects my shoulders better from the sun.
We’ve had snow twice in the past 2 weeks, which is more than we had in February O_O. It definitely melts quickly though, so we can get outside and run/play. 🙂
I hope we are done with the snow now until next winter!
