It’s been a busy week so far and it’s only Wednesday!
Monday night we went to the Islanders game. It had been a while since I went to a weeknight game BUT I couldn’t resist since this game would be played right here at the Coliseum.
^We like to get there early for warm ups!
It was a long game (overtime plus shoot out!) which is not my favorite on a weeknight (I’m tired!) so I had a Mister Softee chocolate vanilla twist late in the game to keep me going. I really could have used more sprinkles though!
The Coliseum used to serve Carvel so I guess now that they have revamped things, they switched to Mister Softee. Here’s a flashback to my Carvel sundae from an Islanders game over three years ago! They had hot fudge for the sundaes which I think Mister Softee needs to add.
Yesterday morning I headed into the city with my friend Dina (who also works with me) to meet up with two of the girls from our New York office to do a holiday toys for tots donation to Mt. Sinai’s Kravis Children’s Hospital.
I was in charge of the donation process for our NY office AND in charge of selecting all of the toys. You can be sure I took it seriously and picked out a wide range of awesome toys. I love toys so this was extra fun for me and it was really special to do this donation. It warmed our hearts to know the kids would receive so many new things to play with!
Side note: My son was born at Mt. Sinai Hospital AND I was too!
And random, I had this salad as a late lunch yesterday from Cosi. I was so hungry after all the driving in and out of the city that I had to stop to get something to eat on my way home. The picture looks so nice doesn’t it? I wish I could say that I really enjoyed the taste but something was lacking. I haven’t been to Cosi in years and remembered after the fact that I liked their hummus sandwich.
The rest of the week is looking pretty busy too. Aside from working per usual, I will be back in the city tomorrow morning and maybe another time this week too. The good news is, no major snow in the forecast. I am really not in the mood for winter at all! I can barely take the darkness, let alone the cold. I don’t need snow in the mix too!
