Run From Your Heart

They say the heart is the strongest muscle in the body.

Our hearts have the ability to overpower our minds and make us do things that perhaps our brains would normally disagree with.

Regardless of what you “think” you should do or not do, if you feel it in your heart, that is typically what guides you.

That’s right folks. It’s not our legs preventing us from picking up the pace, it’s not our brain’s fault for calculating how many miles we have left when we are only at mile two and plan on running thirteen.

If we don’t feel our ability in our hearts, we don’t stand a chance out there.

These deep moments of truth are courtesy of running outdoors. Instead of focusing on a treadmill display screen, outside I feel so  free that I am able conjure up all sorts of life lessons for us.

Is it me or was the sky beautiful in an interesting way late yesterday afternoon?

Something was fascinating me about this so I had no choice but to take a picture.

Anyway, I realized I have the Fitness Magazine half marathon approaching in oh, three weeks from this weekend.

It may have been the first day of spring yesterday but I am not so sure what the weather will be the day of the race.

While rain of course crosses the mind, I am more focused on temperature and what I will wear.

I am hoping that it will be warm enough to wear my favorite Lulu Lemon skirt but who knows at this point.

Speaking of Lulu, when I was at the store the other day, I spotted a new running top called the Run Times tank.

I don’t really need new workout tops for spring but I do like this one for the built-in bra, open and loose-fitting sides and the adjustable cinch feature so that the bottom of the top will stay in place.

I didn’t try it on when was there but I may this weekend. The problem with trying it on is that I am sure I will love it and then want to buy it.

What I really need for spring is another pair of Pro Compression socks and another pair of my favorite running cropped pants.

I would add these items to a list but lately lists appear to mean nothing in my world.

I can’t begin to tell you how many things I have forgotten this week at my trips to the grocery store.

I don’t know where my mind has been (probably still out on my running path) but I plan on doing my food shopping later and not only remember everything on my list but purchase double of each item so that the next time I forget what I need, I will already have it.

Genius, I know.

Have a great weekend!

What’s on your list for spring workout clothes/accessories?

Next race on your calendar?

How often to do forget to buy what you truly need from the grocery store?
