My Excitement Is Not Normal (Friday Favorites)

My level of excitement over using the Alo Keep It Dry Fitness pouch in my gym bag this week was definitely not normal.

I put my wet clothes in the Alo pouch after a sweaty five-mile run on Wednesday and was so quietly excited in the Equinox locker room about the organization and functionality of the cute accessory. At that moment, I knew I was slightly nuts to be so happy over something so minor.

alo-fitness-pouch

These Alo pouches are so great for your gym bag. Or a beach bag. Or for travel. I ordered two pouches (one silver and one black) during the Black Friday sale and put them both in my gym bag to use for wet or dry organization.

This one Alo pouch held my after-workout sweaty headband, pants, socks, sports bra, and shirt, with room for more. You need it, trust me.

Friday Favorites

I finished my favorite shade of Tarte Juicy Lip Plump and clearly, I’m not the only one who loves this plumping lip gloss because Sephora is sold out of every shade.

I’m thinking I’ll get the Kosas Lip Oil Plumping Gloss in the meantime.

I’m very happy with this eye cream from Skinfix right now. If I think it’s hydrating, it must be. And even better, it doesn’t burn or irritate when it touches my skin. The skin around the eyes is so delicate and mine is even more delicate than that so this product is a real win so far for me.

I love these Crystal Accent Pop Top Gloves with the matching hat. While I don’t really need them, the price is great. Can you ever have enough gloves?

I’m always drawn to the style of Voile Blanche shoes. These Shearling Lowtop Sneakers are no exception.

Grab these Faux Fur Slippers from J.Crew on sale before they are sold out.

I have my eyes on the Like a Cloud High Neck Bra from lululemon in the Pink Peony. I like the high neck styles and would wear this for barre or pilates.

The lululemon belt bag obsession is real — they are completely sold out and each time they add more stock, it’s gone in minutes. There is the new Crossbody Camera Bag (and still available!) if you are interested. The white opal is pretty.

Beauty Product Dupes From Target!

It’s no secret that I spend a lot of money (and time) on beauty products. I research ingredients, follow the latest product launches, and hang out at Sephora weekly as if it’s a routine grocery store run.

I have sensitive skin so I definitely do not like to rock the boat too often with too many new beauty products but over the last little while, I slowly switched a few things that saved me from spending unnecessary money.

Believe me, I’m all for investing in my skincare and makeup but sometimes, there are a few products that are just as good (and clean) as the higher-priced brands.

Below is a quick list of the beauty products I now get from Target that are “dupes” for more expensive skincare and makeup products. Not only are these Target beauty dupes cheaper, I always save at least 5% with my Target Redcard and even more when they run deals.

Also, all of these Target beauty product dupes are “clean” and receive top ratings from EWG.

Beauty Dupes From Target

Cerave Micellar Water instead of Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water

$10.99 for 10 oz vs $28 for 8 oz

I was very nervous about switching from Drunk Elephant Micellar Water because it removes my makeup (including my eye makeup) without burning my skin or causing irritation. However, I gave Cerave a try after reading reviews and I’m so glad I did. Look at that price difference!

Cerave Hydrating Face Cleanser instead of First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

$17.99 for 16 oz vs $24 for 5 oz.

I love this cleanser! It’s hydrating without feeling like it’s hydrating. Instead, your face just feels fresh and clean. I started with the mini travel size of Cerave, realized I loved it, and then bought the 8 oz bottle. Now, I buy the 16 oz bottle for $17.99. I kept the travel-size bottle so that I can fill it using my larger bottle for when I travel.

Alba Botanica Very Emollient Unscented Original Body Lotion instead of Necessaire – The Body Lotion

$14.99 for 32 oz vs $28 for 6.8 oz

I’ve mentioned this moisturizer in the past — the bottle is GIANT and I’m telling you, it’s as good as Necessaire. I use it after I get out of the shower every day and my skin is soft and hydrated. It also absorbs quickly and the pump is perfect for easy use. They make scented versions but I like to keep my skincare fragrance free.

E.L.F. Halo Glow Liquid Filter instead of Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter

$14 vs $46 — a no brainer

You already know about this dupe taking over tik tok and social media right? I’ve mentioned it before but it’s worth mentioning it again. Look at that price difference! There’s a reason it’s nearly impossible to find the E.L.F. Halo Glow Liquid Filter, it’s sold out because it’s that good.

You can the Halo Glow Filter alone, as a primer, mixed with foundation, or as a highlighter — it’s an amazing product that saves you money because it’s basically the same as the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter.

Bonus:

I love Versed Baby Cheeks All in One Hydrating Milk. I can’t tell you the exact dupe that it is, but it’s a well-priced hydrating, gentle toner. I use it after I wash my face and sometimes before the gym if my skin needs some extra hydration. It’s also great for removing extra traces of makeup or for a quick refresh after a workout and before you shower. Baby Cheeks is also gentle around the eyes and causes no burning sensation to my skin.

$17.99 for 4 oz

Friday Favorites (Just A Few From Nordstrom Sale)

It’s Friday! I’m headed to Florida next week! The weather looks nice for a run at the beach tomorrow! With the slightly rough week I’ve had at work, I’m very excited for a nice summer weekend and packing for my trip. You know I will have all of my Stoney Clover pouches out for a not-so-easy decision-making process.

Friday Favorites

I’m not usually a lover of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sales, but I see a few deals worth discussing!

Okay, so Mac Lip Sets are always worth it. I look forward to seeing the color options during the Nordstrom anniversary sale.

This is the time to try beauty products from Charlotte Tilbury so go with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Cheek Set and this Pillow Talk Lip Kit.

I always look at these Rag and Bone Retro Sneakers. They come in a few colors.

I only wear wire-free bras. I am definitely ordering this one on sale.

Anything Alo Yoga is good! This Seamless Knit Bra is on sale.

if you are a Bomba socks fan, grab the 6- Pack of Bomba Socks on sale.

Ohh and a LongChamp Large La Pliage Neo Travel Bag is on sale — I love this shade of like an ice blue.

This tennis dress looks cute and is priced well in the sale. I love this dress but it’s not part of the sale but it’s also not expensive so it doesn’t matter.

In other Friday Favorites news…

I love this heart bracelet. It’s so fun for summer.

This is a pretty shade of pink for the lululemon Court Crush tennis dress. Also from lululemon, I should probably try the high-rise training shorts. I really don’t like running in shorts because I can’t stand if something moves or rides up but maybe with the bike short built-in, I would be comfortable.

If you have sensitive skin like me and love an eye cream that’s more like a balm that doesn’t sting and totally hydrates when applied, you MUST try Honest Beauty’s Calm & Renew Melting Eye Balm. I’m OBSESSED. It’s made without the bad ingredients, certified by EWG, and really well-priced too! I am also using the Calm & Heal Melting Balm for the rest of my face. This balm will come in really handy in the winter but even now, it’s so good after a day in the sun. I even apply it over the rest of my skincare and it can go in the eye area too — it’s that gentle!

Catching Up On Friday Favorites!

It’s been a few weeks since my last round of Friday Favorites so let’s catch up on some recent favorites today!

I bought a few things at the Stoney Clover store in East Hampton a few weekends ago.

stoney-clover

Definitely get yourself a terry bucket hat. I had mine customized with a new style pearl letter M. I really need to take a picture wearing the bucket hat because the fit is SO CUTE.

I also grabbed a keychain wallet customized with a gingham glitter pearl letter M. It’s perfect for summer, travel, or anytime you want to carry less with you.

In other Friday Favorites news…

I started using this Alba Botanica Very Emollient Unscented Body Lotion and really love it! While I have so many other clean moisturizers that I like for the body, I noticed that I use so much at a time that spending top dollar on a body cream wasn’t the best idea IF I could find a cheaper option of high, clean quality. This giant bottle from Alba Botanica gets the job done, is clean in terms of ingredients, and is available at Target for barely fifteen dollars.

I also went back to the Drunk Elephant F Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydration Mask and realized all over again how great it is for the skin. While I had switched things up to using Youth To The People’s Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask for a while, I do think Drunk Elephant’s mask gives better results.

This LOVE pouch isn’t a Stoney Clover pouch but looks similar and is a really cute cosmetics case.

I want this hair clip.

This strapless smocked linen dress is on sale at J. Crew.

This top, also from J. Crew is not on sale but I think I’m going to get it anyway.

I always come back to looking at this racerback flared active dress.

This dress, plus others from Melissa Odabash, is on sale right now.

I bought this GapFit Breathe Racerback Muscle Tank in neon green and I love it for running. I keep choosing it over my other running tops.

I also needed a new pair of the GapFit leggings I wear for running so I grabbed them on sale! I’m not one for compression pants so this style, in particular, is perfect — and always priced so reasonably.

Have a nice weekend!

Sephora Spring Savings Event + Stoney Clover x Target Tomorrow!

Today is the start of the Sephora Spring Savings Event and tomorrow is the launch of Stoney Clover X Target?!

Way too much excitement for me at once!

The Sephora Spring Savings sale (use code SAVESPRING) is always a great time for me to stock up on my daily skincare products. I have my list ready for this morning and I’ll be adding a few makeup items too.

I’ll share what I buy in another post but for now, I’ve rounded up my top skincare and makeup picks to shop during this spring’s Sephora Spring Savings Event!

Sephora spring savings

Skincare:

I’ve gone in-depth on skincare so frequently that I don’t want to overload this post with my recommendations.

It’s always a good idea to choose anything from Biossance or Drunk Elephant. I currently use or have previously used almost every product from Drunk Elephant’s skincare line.

See my Drunk Elephant skincare routine in this post along with the best clean skincare products in this post.

Also…

Sunscreen for everyday under makeup: Biossance SPF 30.  Seriously, this sunscreen is now my favorite when looking for an everyday SPF 30. While I wouldn’t use it for the beach (I need SPF 50), this sunscreen from Biossance is so hydrating and moisturizing, that you can’t believe it’s sunscreen. While I wear it over moisturizer, you can wear it as a moisturizer. I guess it depends upon your skin type.

Makeup Remover:  Drunk Elephant Micellar Water. It literally removes your makeup in one try and does not irritate my eyes at all. I’m super sensitive so even the most “gentle” of removers will burn – not this one!

Gentle Face Cleanser: First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

Bar Soap/Exfoliating Bar: Drunk Elephant Baby Bar Travel Duo with Case

Hydration Mask: I fell in love this winter with Youth To The People Hydrate & Glow Superberry Mask  I highly recommend it!

Best At-Home Facial Mask: Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial AHA + BHA Mask

Lip Masks: I talk about lip masks often but really, once you try one, you can’t NOT use a lip mask every night. The Kissu Lip Mask is life-changing for your lips. Also worth trying is Ilia Lip Wrap.I really see results from both lip mask products.

Body Lotion: Go with either Necessaire Body Lotion or Biossance Toning Body Cream.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4730521″]

Makeup:

As I’ve mentioned in the past, I wear a lot of makeup from Glossier but I do still shop for makeup at Sephora so here are my recommendations!

Foundations:

The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation is a nice, clean foundation that won’t irritate your skin but goes on nicely with medium coverage.

If you want a clean foundation with light/medium coverage and an SPF, try the cult-favorite Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40.

Also, consider trying the new foundation with SPF 25 from Kosas.I know I’m buying it during the sale!

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4730523″]

My favorite Makeup Primer: Tatcha Silk Canvas

Favorite Concealer: Kosas Revealer Concealer

Excellent Setting Powder: Tatcha The Silk Powder Protective Setting Powder

Toning Mist: Biossance Toning Mist is great for hydration, setting makeup, and using jt with your beauty blender.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4730524″]

Best Powder Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush

Bronzer/Highlighter Duo: Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

Also, I want this Ilia Multi-Stick Cheek and Lip

Favorite Eye Shadow:  Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette. While it’s not a “clean” makeup product, I do wear it when I really want to do my eyes up. The colors are so pretty and look so nice. The pigment goes on and stays on so well.

Favorite Eye Liner: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eye Liner

Favorite Lash Primer: Milk Lash Primer

Really Nice Eyebrow Pencil: Kosas Brow Pop

Lip Liner: Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Liner

Need Lip Gloss? Try a Kosa Wet Lip Oil Gloss. I also love the Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss from Lawless.

Oh, and this Balmy Tint Hydrating Lip Balm from Ilia is on my list.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4730525″]

Hair:

Shampoo: If you still aren’t ready to trust me that Olaplex is THE BEST, try out the mini-size shampoo and conditioner as a start.

Also, try Briogeo Don’t Detox & Repair Set before buying the full sizes – I think you will love the Briogeo products but the mini sets give you a chance to try before spending full price.

I rotate Olaplex and Briogeo with Drunk Elephant Shampoo and Conditioner.

Hair Products:

I mentioned a few months ago that I love the DryBar Buttercup Blow Dryer and also use the Half Pint Round Brush when blowing out my hair and the Hold Me Hair Clips.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4730526″]

Stoney Clover X Target

As far as Stoney Clover’s collaboration with Target which launches in-store and online tomorrow, I don’t even have words for this situation. I am pretty sure the collection will sell out online before I even wake up but I do plan to check everything that I’ve already “hearted” in my Target account to see what I can order. And then, I will go to the Target stores in my area first thing in the morning.

Friday Favorites! (mostly fashion)

All week I thought it was Thursday so I’m really happy for today to be Friday. Don’t get me wrong — the week went fast in some ways but winter is just…long. With the blizzard last weekend combined with working from home, I feel like I need to get out a bit!

I have my eyes set already on Spring and even as far as Summer, especially when it comes to fashion. I’m ready for warm weather clothes which is a problem since it’s only February.

Here’s a quick look at what I’m browsing right now during this in-between shopping season.

Friday Favorites

I love this Beyond Yoga tank and matching leggings with the heart detailing. I live in Beyond Yoga sets year round so this is perfect for me.

The cult-favorite Alo Yoga socks now come in half-crew size! Also from Alo, I want one of these Everyday Full-Zip Hoodies.

I’ve mentioned my velour pajamas from Kate Spade before but I’m mentioning them again because they have kept me warm this winter in the bitter cold. If you live in a cold winter climate, you need these pajamas. Plus, the hearts are so pretty.

Shopbop is running big sales right now and that includes select Stoney Clover products. Get them while you can and if they sell out, the regular-priced Stoney Clover items will ship for free which is a great saving too.

This is a really cute tennis dress from Aerie. They also have tennis skirts on sale right now.

I hope Aerie brings back the rock n ruffle mini skirt because I have two and want more! These skirts are the best and so much cheaper than the LOVESHACKFANCY version. I see no need to buy the LOVESHACK skirt when the Aerie version is that good.

While I have a quilted coat like this from J.Crew, I love the bright pink color of this version from Aqua.

This is my style dress and it’s on sale.

I’m going to Sephora this weekend to restock my favorite Drunk Elephant Micellar Water, Tatcha Lip Mask, and Briogeo shampoo.

Oh! I bought the Olaplex Blonde Enhancing Toning Shampoo — I use it once a week (or once every two weeks) and I think it’s the best one I’ve tried yet.  I LOVE all Olaplex products so I’m not surprised!

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4694211″]

Stoney Clover High Tea!! Plus a Few Other Friday Favorites

Did you shop Stoney Clover’s High Tea Collection yet?!

I was in a meeting yesterday when it launched which made me really antsy because I thought it would sell out. The good news is that many items are still left! The bad news is that I simply cannot make a decision.

I could always use a small pouch. But maybe I want a flat pouch. I really like the scrunchies. And need a large pouch.

Instead of making quick decisions, I just play with the customizer. How am I supposed to pick a style? A pattern? I love them all.

Body Moisturizer

In other news, let’s quickly discuss body moisturizer products.

It’s really important to not just moisturize your face! You have skin on the rest of your body! And, it’s equally important to use quality, clean products that are made without the bad ingredients. You just can’t ignore the fact that the drugstore shelves are filled with products that contain ingredients we shouldn’t be using.

I use and like a few different products so here are my top choices in case you are interested.

Necessaire The Body Lotion – Cult-favorite and very good.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration- Just as good as Necessaire if you ask me and I like the version that comes in the tub instead of a tube.

Biossance Squalane + Caffeine Toning Body Cream –It was finally time for me to try this cream from Biossance. It’s highly recommended for a reason!

Also, I meant to tell you about how I use my Beauty Blender last week. You know how they say you should dampen the Beauty Blender for best application? I use my Beauty Blender with toning or setting mist instead of water. It makes all of the difference in makeup application. For a mist, I use Biossance Squalane + Hyaluronic Toning Mist. Try it and let me know! I think you will see the flawless difference.

Fashion Favorites

I wish I had some fashion favorites to share but this is such a tough time of year. I’m not really looking for anything in particular at this point for winter and I really don’t want to buy spring/summer yet because I will want to wear it and can’t.

Bloomingdale’s is running Buy More Save More this week which is always a good deal depending upon what you are looking for right now.

Splendid is part of the sale as is Rails. Oh, Joe’s Jeans are on sale too. I bought a pair recently for the first time and really like them!

That’s all I’ve got for today. Hopefully, I will have more fashion favorites in the coming weeks as we inch towards spring!

Friday Favorites (Hair/Beauty/Fashion)

I’ve got a whole bunch of random favorites from the last little while so jumping right into discussing them today!

I bought this Youth The The People Hydrate & Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C. You leave it on like a moisturizer at night after the rest of your skincare. It’s so nice and thick like butter but glides right on your skin and absorbs so quickly! I love it for this time of year. My skin is SO SOFT and hydrated.

I still believe in my Drunk Elephant Winter Skincare routine and use all of the products on a daily/regular basis but I do try other products when I need to understand their hype which is what happened with the YTTP mask.

Let’s talk hair products for a minute.

This Briogeo volumizing spray. I can’t decide how much actual volume it adds but since buying it, if I don’t use it, I notice I should have used it. Best way to describe! Also, I do think it makes my hair even softer than usual and adds an overall polished look to my blowouts.

Speaking of blowouts, I’m in love with my Drybar Buttercup Blowdryer, by the way. I have very straight, easy-to-manage not fussy hair so I do not see the need to spend a fortune on a Dyson. However, this blowdryer from Drybar is definitely excellent and worth the price — my blowouts come out flawless and perfect each time. Yes, I do see a difference since using it.

Also from Drybar, I love the Hold Me Hair Clips , self-grip rollers, and this round brush for use when blowdrying.

Fashion Faves:

Um hello, how cool is the New York City snowglobe-like heel on these sandals from Kate Spade?

nye snow globe heels

Also from Kate Spade, I love these black with red heart heels. Very Valentine’s Day-themed but also something I would wear all of the time.

With Valentine’s Day in mind, I also love these Valentine-themed plush socks and pack of scrunchies . The scrunchies are as soft as the socks.

I wanted this heart tank bra when I saw it in the store but they didn’t have my size! It’s so soft! These are the matching heart joggers. Also crazy soft.

Splendid has these heart joggers on sale. I do have these joggers with the hearts that go down the leg from Splendid but they are currently sold out from their site. You can get them from Neiman Marcus but they aren’t on sale.

Stoney Clover did a surprise drop of Valentine’s Day patches. The balloon hearts is my favorite.

Sephora BeautyINSIDER Savings Time!

It’s Sephora BeautyINSIDER Savings Time!

I literally started planning my Sephora Sale order weeks in advance because I knew the Sephora Holidays Savings Event was approaching and it’s such a great opportunity for saving money on my routine must-have beauty products.

Use Code YAYHOLIDAY

For today’s post, I’m going to list out a whole bunch of my beauty product recommendations as suggestions when shopping the Sephora sale, and then next week, I can share what I ordered specifically during the Sephora sale. Sound good?!

Sephora sale

Skincare:

I’ve gone in-depth on skincare so frequently that I don’t want to overload this post with my recommendations.

It’s always a good idea to choose anything from Biossance or Drunk Elephant.

See my Drunk Elephant skincare routine in this post along with the best clean skincare products in this post.

I can’t even choose which Drunk Elephant products to recommend to you in this post because I recommend ALL OF THEM – you just can’t go wrong. From cleansers to serums to moisturizers to masks (and haircare too), the products are excellent, clean, and well-priced.

However, the BEST makeup remover in my opinion is the Drunk Elephant Micellar Water. It literally removes your makeup in one try and does not irritate my eyes at all. I’m super sensitive so even the most sensitive of removers will burn – not this one!

Oh, and grab the Drunk Elephant F Balm Waterfacial Mask – so good for winter.

I do LOVE Tatcha skincare products too. During this sale, I will be grabbing the Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair Serum in Cream Treatment and The Dewey Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment.

Oh, and The Kissu Lip Mask is life-changing for your lips. Even if you think your lips aren’t chapped and already feel hydrated, think again. Try this lip mask and you will see what I mean.

Need an excellent moisturizer for your body? Go with Necessaire Body Lotion.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4613046″]

Makeup:

As I’ve mentioned in the past, I wear a lot of makeup from Glossier which makes it a little hard to give you honest recommendations about all of the makeup options to shop during the Sephora sale. BUT! I do have a few to share!

Foundations: The Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation is a nice, clean foundation that won’t irritate your skin but goes on nicely with medium coverage. If you want a clean foundation with light/medium coverage and an SPF, try the cult-favorite Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40.

My favorite Makeup Primer: Tatcha Silk Canvas

Favorite Concealer: Kosas Revealer Concealer

Excellent Setting Powder: Tatcha The Silk Powder Protective Setting Powder

Best Powder Blush: Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush

Best eye shadow palettes if you have sensitive eyes but still want to wear eye shadow in a variety of shades that apply well and stay on: Tarte Power Bar Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette.

Favorite Lash Primer: Milk Lash Primer

Really Nice Eyebrow Pencil: Kosas Brow Pop

Need lip gloss? Try a Kosa Wet Lip Oil Gloss. I also love the Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss from Lawless.

Hair:

If you aren’t ready to trust me that Olaplex is THE BEST, try out the mini-size shampoo and conditioner as a start.

Also, try Briogeo Don’t Detox & Repair Set before buying the full sizes – I think you will love the Briogeo products but the mini sets give you a chance to try before spending full price.

I like the Drunk Elephant Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Wild Marula Tangle Spray. I don’t use the spray every time I do my hair but when I feel like I need it, it’s great.

[show_shopthepost_widget id=”4613675″]

Beauty Sets:

Buy a set as a holiday gift for someone else or for yourself to use for travel purposes. Or, go with a set simply to try the products before purchasing the full-size options.

Everyone needs the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Secrets Set.

I will get the Tatcha No Filter Essentials for myself.

Already own the Drunk Elephant Hair & Body Kit and then went on to buy the full-size products.

The Drunk Elephant Night Out Skincare Set is a great gift. I use all of the products in the set.

Asking for this Necessaire Body Ritual Set for Hanukkah.

Great price here for the Olaplex Healthy Hair Essentials

How cute is this Single Scoop (like ice cream) Beauty Blender?

Makeup Bags:

If you need a place to store your beauty products, I obviously recommend Stoney Clover pouches. And the BEST NEWS is that tomorrow (November 6) Stoney Clover is running their one-day sale – everything will be 20% off!

Friday Favorites! ( recent favorite skincare + fashion)

It’s Friday! And I’m off today!

While the weather won’t be picture-perfect today, I think I may run by the beach this morning. The summer is slipping away and I really want to take advantage of my favorite summer running scenery.

Long Beach boardwalk

I also need to finish my son’s dorm shopping list. He keeps asking me if I’m keeping the receipts because he doesn’t feel he needs everything that I’m buying but what does he know? He’s a boy. He should only know how much more I would be getting if he was a girl. The dorm stuff for girls is INSANE.

Anyway, I have some Friday Favorites to share for the first time in a few weeks!

nécessaire body lotion

I finally bought The Body Lotion from Necessaire.

People RAVE about this body lotion as if it’s the holy grail of moisturizers but it took me some time to give it a try. I had been using the body lotion from Drunk Elephant and wasn’t in the mood to switch. Well, finally I caved and bought Necessaire Body Lotion while shopping at Sephora. At first, I wasn’t sure what the hype was all about. I’m a give me all the heavy cream type of girl and this body lotion is on the thin side. It’s also fast-absorbing (which is a good thing).

I was so confused because the body lotion felt so basic to me that I reread the reviews to learn why people loved it so much. It seems that they say it works best over time—- and they are right. After a few days of applying the Necessaire body lotion every morning, I definitely noticed that my entire body felt soft and hydrated, at all times. I get it now. Let’s see how it holds up in the winter.

Speaking of my love for all the moisture, I decided it was time to overhydrate my lips and get started with a lip mask. Lip mask products were the only skincare products missing from my routine at this point!

I bought The Kissu Lip Mask from Tatcha and once again, this is a product that shows the best results when you use it every night for a few nights to really see/feel a big difference. I totally noticed my lips were soft and moisturized right away but definitely noticed more of a difference after using this lip mask every night for three nights. This is a great product – I really love it. It’s not that my lips were overly chapped at all but I like how soft they feel and over time, they claim it will further plump, soften, and help diminish lines within the lips. Also, this is a great product to have for the winter. In fact, I think I’m ahead of the game and will prevent any chapped, dry situations by getting in the prevention/protection routine now.

I also restocked my favorite Tatcha Silk Canvas Protective Primer. This product is a game-changer. I cannot imagine applying makeup now without this primer. If you aren’t sure about it, buy the mini size. You will quickly see what I mean.

See also: My Drunk Elephant Skincare Routine

In fashion news, I think I want these pink New Balance sneakers- not for running but for wearing casually.

Oh, and I bought this Smiley Face Terry Cloth Graphic Hoodie a couple of weeks ago from Forever 21. It’s so cute and fits so well. I can see I will be wearing it on repeat come fall.

I found this Alosoft Hooded Runner Long Sleeve Top from Alo Yoga. I’m noticing that I like Alo Yoga and Beyond Yoga more than lululemon these days. This shade of blue from Alo Yoga is my favorite. I wish this hoodie came in the blue but I will take the gray.

I knew we were due for a Bloomingdale’s sale! Right now is 25% off if you use your Bloomingdale’s card or 20% off no matter how you pay. Of course, their Stoney Clover collection isn’t part of the sale but take a look anyway- they really have a nice stock of the pouches and bags!

I was thinking about a new pair of 7 jeans so I’m happy to see the discount applies to this pair. Oh, and I don’t care what the trend is, I still like skinny jeans. 🙂
