I figured I would be Thinking Out Loud this morning all about my travel necessities since I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HEADED DOWN TO FLORIDA TODAY.
Yeah, SUPPOSED TO BE. I made the difficult decision to cancel my weekend escape to Florida because more snow is in the forecast which could, and with my luck, probably would, affect my flights.
I had already started preparing for my trip but I guess everything will have to wait a few more weeks to be packed.
Coffee, tea and peanut butter – what else do you really need?
Ah well, time to switch gears and think about something else until it’s time to head south (or at least try to head south again).
First, I need to know – How many people are there in your life that you could carry on a lengthy text conversation with using only Emoji’s?
The above conversation took place for a few hours. Talking without words for so long without even realizing you aren’t using words is not something you can do with everyone.
Give it a try, see who passes the test, see how many people really understand you.
Another question for you – if you buy something and aren’t happy with it, do you keep it or return it?
I am big on returning. Why should I keep something if I am not satisfied and the store will take it back?
Recently, my eye cream ran out and I was in a need of a new one. I try to switch up my skincare products (especially for my face) because like anything else, I believe the body gets used to the routine and you stop seeing results.
I had heard all this hype about Tarte’s Maracuja C-Brighter eye cream so I bought it. And then returned it.
There was nothing remarkable about it so why should I keep it?
I returned it to Sephora and chose a new-to-me Clinique eye cream.
Since making the switch to paraben-free skincare last year and products free of nasty ingredients, Clinique has been at the top of my list.
And see that tiny bottle in the picture? That would be a two-week sample supply of their new product – Repairwear Laser Focus.
I came across an advertisement from Macy’s offering up a two-week free supply which claims to smooth, restore and correct.
However, I was in Bloomingdales over the weekend, not Macy’s. So, I mentioned the Macy’s offer just to see if they would match it.
Sure enough, they did. It’s all about speaking up, people.
You need to get this sample for yourselves. I noticed a difference in my skin immediately.
Speaking of samples, I received a M-61 sample packet of their Power Glow Peel:
Simply amazing product. Seriously. Instant visual difference as well as feel of your skin. BUT – $10 for $28 peels is pricey.
Which is why I bought a similar product (the tall Clinique bottle you saw in the picture above) for less money to see if it would work wonders as well.
Clinique 7-day scrub cream – so far so good.
And guess what? If I don’t continue to love it in a few days, I will bring it back.
Oh and I know you are wondering where the cute black and red make up case is from…
Forever 21 for about $6.00 – just can’t beat that price.
I know I said that snow days are for baking but I have had enough snow days and really, enough baking.
Snow-day Sweet and Salty snack – A mix of Trader Joe’s Reduced Guilt Kettle Corn, Trader Joe’s Air Popped Pop Corn and Reese’s Pieces.
Since I am not off to Florida as planned, I guess I am headed to the treadmill this morning. I had visions of running outdoors in the sunshine state…
I think I better have breakfast in a sprinkle bowl to help brighten my day.
Thanks to Amanda for the Thinking Out Loud Link-Up fun! Go check out what everyone else has on their mind today!

Anyone else have to change travel plans due to the weather?
Favorite skincare products?
Popcorn – do you like it sweet, salty or a combination? I don’t really love popcorn but on occasion I eat it, and of course, mixed with sweet!
