Thursdays Are For Thinking Out Loud

My son caught wind of the whole What I Ate Wednesday thing and decided Thursdays should be known as Three Cheese Thursday.

Thinking-Out-Loud

He totally reads the blog but clearly not as often as I think since he was unaware that Thursdays are for Thinking Out Loud and I am not about to remind him of what he is missing because I don’t need him reading (and mocking) every single thing that I write.

In fact, he recently subscribed to my blog via email which bothered me like I can’t even begin to tell you but instead of discussing it with him, I just let it go and prayed he would forget to read since he normally lets his emails (which are mostly spam) pile up because he is too busy watching old episodes of The Wonder Years on his phone.

My plan has been to get a hold of his phone in the middle of the night and just unsubscribe him from following my blog  but I keep forgetting to do it because I am busy sleeping.

Last week Andy Petite was interviewed during Jeter’s last home game at Yankees Stadium and he said that just talking about pitching again, or watching a pitcher pitch in a game makes him feel as though he is pitching or at least gives him the feeling inside of what it felt like to be pitching.

Same way we feel when it comes to talking about running or seeing someone running, right?

Puts you right in your shoes as if you can feel yourself moving.

Remember when you played Tetris as a kid and would go to sleep dreaming of Tetris boards and block patterns? Lately, and this may sound insane, sometimes I start falling asleep and I feel like I am running or see myself running. But I am not. I am sleeping. I think.

Can we talk cinnamon rolls for a minute? Do you like them? It’s not that I don’t, I just always classified them as part of my insignificant, no will power needed because I just don’t care either way sweets category.

The cinnamon roll,  let’s say from Cinnabon in the mall,  was something I would smell with my nose and see with my eyes but never activated my taste buds so I could easily keep walking right on past…until I hit like Mrs. Field’s where the buy six cookies get one free would stop me in my tracks.

Lately though I am seeing cinnamon roll recipes like it’s some craze I need to be a part of:

Single Serving Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Rolls

Gluten-Free & Vegan Cinnamon Rolls

Cinnamon Roll Baked Oatmeal

So it may not be Three Cheese Thursday but it is #TBT around the social media world so let’s join in today.

My mother may kill me for this but since the photo is from like 1979, it is totally understandable (okay maybe not but I am trying to be kind) that her hair looks like this:

My friend Danielle sent me this vintage photo the other night (clearly from a Polaroid camera!) of my mother and me (I know, right? I was adorable) which is from Danielle’s first birthday party.

I was only five days away from my first birthday and if I could read my own baby mind based upon the expression on my own face, I am pretty sure that I was thinking,

“Would You Leave Me Alone With The Pictures, Where Is The Cake?!”

I feel as though it is important to tell you that my first words were “yum, yum”, spoken after I was given a cookie.

Some things in life are just meant to be.

Be sure to check out what everyone else is thinking about today!

What was your first word? If you have kids, what was their first word?

Do you like cinnamon rolls?

If you had to pick one – ice cream cake, layer cake or cookie cake?
