Good Monday morning! I know you have been patiently waiting to hear how many miles I ran on Saturday. I wish I could tell you exactly. But I can’t.
While my run was divine, at some point around the 7 mile mark I accidentally hit pause on my phone which froze MapMyRun for easily half a mile if not more. That incident combined with the fact that as my phone battery starts to die, the app starts to track mileage/pace wrong and we have a run not calculated accurately.
But, I do have a feeling I came in around 12 miles.
I came home to my favorite post- long run breakfast that is always eaten out of a jar. I must admit though, my taste buds are slowly changing.
While I have been on an oatmeal-free kick all week, I didn’t want to mess with the long run routine so I did what I normally do:
I always always have oatmeal – usually I eat a little bit of oatmeal before my run mixed with banana and some peanut butter.
Post-Run eats are the rest of the oatmeal mixed with plain greek yogurt, loaded with berries and more peanut butter in a jar.
Would you believe the first half of my run I was feeling eh from the peanut butter?
I think my world is off its axis.
I was so turned off by the peanut butter that when I came back, I added granola into my oatmeal jar instead of my usual additional spoonfuls of peanut butter.
Rather than question myself, I have decided to go where my taste buds lead me.
My taste buds these days are leading me to Andrea’s 25, which has become my new favorite restaurant.
Saturday night I felt the need to test out the Woodbury location.
Say hello to zucchini marinara topped with grilled shrimp. The dish comes with chicken but they will customize any dish for you so I went with the shrimp in place of the chicken and was in heaven.
I really need to make zucchini into “pasta” at home but I am too lazy to use a spiralizer. Which is just fine – I can save some deliciousness for dining out.
Burnt string beans on the side- can you blame me for loving this restaurant?
I think the Woodbury location will be my favorite – did I mention it is next to Crumbs and a self-serve yogurt store?
I actually walked into Crumbs and left without a cupcake choosing to go to Yogurt Crazy for a cup of toppings topped with yogurt. Sign number two that my world is slightly off axis.
Anyone else load their yogurt cup with more toppings than yogurt?
No picture of the yogurt cup because I was enjoying it too much and too quickly to get you a picture.
But I did get you a picture of this bag:
In my never-ending quest for a new handbag, I came across an Emoji inspired tote – how funny?
Emojis seem to be everywhere these days.
For my Australian readers, you may recognize these cute Emoji-looking faces from your local Pie Face location. For my local and US readers, in case you aren’t familiar, Pie Face is an Australian bakery café chain that opened in the New York City area within the last two years.
They make cute little pies – both savory and sweet.
The little boy and I spent the day yesterday in Manhattan. More on our spontaneous little adventure a bit later in the week.
School doesn’t start for another two weeks…let’s not even talk about.
I am off to get the day going with a run. Have a great Monday!

I NEED TO KNOW:
What was the best thing you ate this weekend?
Do you prefer the toppings over the frozen yogurt like I do? It’s all about the crunchies, hot fudge and whipped cream for me.
Ever been to Pie Face? If so, which is your favorite pie?
Do you text with Emojis?
