Love a Long Weekend (weekly workout recap)

I love a long weekend!

I’ve been off since Friday and have really enjoyed the lack of routine and unofficial start of summer.

Aside from one morning in the last week, the weather has been nice enough for outdoor runs or walks. While Saturday’s weather went from nice to stormy to nice, I’ve been at the beach all weekend and will be back again today. Give me all the beach time possible!

Monday – 3.25 Mile Run

  • 1 mile: warm-up
  • 1 mile: 1 min hard/1 mind easy
  • 1 mile: 2 min hard/2 min easy

I added a short cooldown plus a 20-minute walk.

Tuesday – 3 Mile Walk

Wednesday – 22 Min Full Body Flow + 45 Min Walk

Thursday – 3 Mile Walk + 10 Min Stretching Yoga Flow

I was surprised to be sore from yesterday’s full-body flow so I needed an easy day today just to move and stretch things out.

Friday – 5 Mile Run

I was off today for the long weekend so I had time to just run at my leisure rather than keep to a schedule.

Saturday – Melissa Wood Health Combo

The weather was iffy today depending upon the time of day and location. I stayed indoors for my workout with a great combo from Melissa Wood Health.

  • 21 Min Power Yoga/Pilates Flow
  • 24 Min Spicy Inner/Outer Thigh + Booty (1 lb weights)

Sunday – 7. Mile Run (boardwalk)

Today was actually the City Managers 10 mile run in Long Beach which I last ran in 2019.

While I was not up for running a 10-mile race, I was up for a boardwalk run! I saw a few of the runners on the boardwalk but most had passed the boardwalk portion of the race by the time I was running.

I had planned on running six miles with a half-mile cooldown but I felt great and energized with my pace in the low 9’s (not strenuous) so I continued the extra half mile to finish at seven miles for the day.

This run went by so fast!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the long weekend!
