It’s totally fine if you laugh at me regarding my running shoe situation. I’m laughing at myself.
So the Hokas were not for me which means I returned to the running store for the THIRD Saturday in a row to fix the problem.
How did I fix it?
I decided that I would just get a new pair of the Brooks Ghost 14, the same shoes that brought me in three weeks ago looking for a new model to try.

You see, it’s not that this model Ghost was terrible, they just didn’t feel as great, in my opinion, as the previous Ghost model.
However, after trying many different running shoe models in store and bringing two different shoes home to run in that were completely NOT okay, I’ve learned my lesson and will stick with this Ghost until the next model launches in July.
After the last couple of weeks of wrong-for-me running shoes, putting the Ghost back on felt right again.
Maybe something was off with the pair of Ghosts I had. Maybe I just needed to try other shoes to realize what felt right.
Maybe I’m just crazy.
Last Week’s Workouts
I ran Saturday and Sunday so I knew I wouldn’t run Monday and ended up skipping Tuesday under the assumption that I would run Wednesday.
I did my running shoe exchange on Saturday and couldn’t wait to run in the new pair of Ghosts on Sunday!
Monday – 23 Min Yoga + 40 Min Walk
Tuesday – 30 Min Walk + 15 Min Full Body Flow
Wednesday – 3 Mile Run (plus cooldown walk + yoga stretching)
Thursday – 27 Min Full Body Elevated Pilates + 40 Min Walk
This pilates flow is no joke, SO GOOD.
Friday – 3 Mile Run (plus cooldown walk + yoga stretching)
Saturday – 33 Min Full Body Flow (1 lb weights) + 3 Mile Walk
Sunday – 6.5 Mile Run (boardwalk run!)
Once I saw the forecast for this weekend, I just knew I had to run at the beach this morning. The temperature was 55 degrees and the sun was bright — it was perfect.
I’m so happy that it’s basically beach running season again!

I’m very happy to report that the new pair of Ghosts felt terrific. Although the last few weeks have been odd when I consider that I ended up back in the same running shoes, just a new pair, I’m just happy to resolve the situation and have happy feet again!
