I don’t even want to have the running shoe conversation.
Nope, don’t want to go there.
Technically, I do not need new running shoes. My Brooks Ghosts 14’s are not burned out just yet.
But.
I don’t love them.
There, I said it.
The Ghost 14’s lack the level of cushion that I prefer and there’s an awareness of something not right in the area of my big toes.
I really don’t want to have this conversation.
I’m not in the mood to try to figure out my next pair of running shoes. It’s like opening a can of worms!
I run so much less than I used to that I feel as though I can really run in anything neutral/comfortable and not have that much of an issue until it’s really time for a new pair of sneakers.
When my average runs were between 8 and 13 miles at a time, the specific meticulous fit of my running shoes really mattered to me.
And while of course fit and comfort still matter, it’s not on my former level of insane anymore when I run 3 or 5 miles at a time.
Maybe I will try the Brooks Adrenalines. Maybe if I go to the running store, I will go way back and try Asics again. Nope, not doing that. Those hurt the tops of my feet.
Saucony seems nice until the heel drop is an issue and my heels hurt.
And I’m really not interested in going back to my Boosts from Adidas either. I don’t feel that I need those for the little bit of running that I do.
I could also just wait for the Ghost 15s which are expected to launch in July. Although, that’s still a few months from now.
I’m not really sure at this point what I will do. All I know is that I’m not in the mood to figure it out!
Workouts from Last Week
While it rained at times, I was still able to run and walk outdoors most days of the week.
Oh, and I’m also noticing that I am starting to pick up the pace again after my warm-up mile. This is likely because it’s getting warmer outside so my winter mood is lifting!
Monday – 16 Min Swift Full Body (1 lb weights) + 45 Min Walk
This new workout added to Melissa Wood Health’s menu was so good! I immediately added it to my favorites because it creates the perfect combo when added to a walk.
Tuesday – 3 Mile Run
Wednesday – Melissa Wood Health Combo
Raining today!
- 33 Min Power Yoga/Pilates Flow (1 lb weights + resistance band)
- 9 Min Arms (1 lb weights)
Thursday – 3 Mile Run
The rain held off until later which made me really happy.
Friday – 3 Mile Walk
Saturday – 5 Mile Run
Sunday – 27 Min Elevated Pilates + 1 Hour Walk

Today is the last day to save during Sephora’s Spring Savings Event! View my top picks in this post.
I hear you! The Brooks Launch has been my shoe for 4 years now, but the latest model isn’t working for me. I tried out some other Brooks shoes but I couldn’t find a good fit and I’m just over it. This week I’ll be trying out Asics Nimbus Lite and New Balance – wish me luck!
I wore the Nimbus years ago! Good luck – let me know how they fit these days!
Would you consider Hokas? I love them! I have the Clifton 8s. I run 3-5 miles a few times a week. I used to be Brooks Ghosts all the way, but once I tried the Hokas, I’m hooked now.
I wore Hokas in the past! Ugh, I don’t know, I just don’t feel like making changes or new decisions!
