Earlier Sunrises + Treadmill Days Are Coming (weekly workout recap)

fall running

The earlier sunrises are definitely a good thing for morning runners or those with an early morning exercise routine. The early sunrise really makes such a difference for me, even if it means that it looks like midnight by 5:00 PM these days.

Pretty soon though, the dark and cold mornings are going to keep me from wanting to run/walk outside in the morning.

I haven’t been to the gym in my community or used a treadmill since March of 2020. The gym closed at the start of the pandemic but then when it reopened, I didn’t go back because running on the treadmill with a mask on was not at all appealing to me. I’m pretty sure the mask mandate is no longer in place so assuming I don’t need to wear one, I may go back and give the treadmill in the gym a shot this winter. It’s not like I run so much anyway, even just a few miles indoors will feel better for me than cold morning miles. I DO NOT like running in the cold winter air.

So, it looks like I may be revisiting my old treadmill workouts for winter pretty soon!

Monday – 5 Mile Run

I was so happy to have the earlier sunrise again!

fall running

Tuesday – 19 Min Full Body Power Series (1 lb weights) + 3 Mile Walk

Wednesday – 3 Mile Run

Thursday – 25 Min Full Body (1 lb weights + resistance band) + 45 Min Walk

Friday – 37 Min Yoga w/side of Pilates (bodyweight)

Although I’ve done this flow many times over the last year, I often forget how much I enjoy it. I also forget that it’s challenging at times, in the best way possible.

Saturday – 3 Mile Run

Three miles was where I was at today. For so long I ran 12-15 miles every Saturday morning and now? Three miles is enough. Funny how that happens.

Sunday – Melissa Wood Health Combo

  • 23 Min Yoga
  • 23 Min Power Arms & Abs (1 lb weights + ball)

The ball behind your lower back makes this so hard and so killer BUT I get better at it every time.
