Weekly Workout Recap (city days + Melissa Wood Health)

New York City

Already Monday? I don’t know how that always happens.

So I was in the city for a few days last week for work. Rather than deal with the commute (traffic is seriously insane these days), I  stayed in town which was a lot more fun.

While I didn’t run in the city, I walked as much as possible (love to walk in the city!) and kept up my Melissa Wood Health routine. The days were busy and long so it was a perfect balance.

New York City

Speaking of the city, yesterday was the marathon! While I’ve never run it (and likely never will), my dad ran it three times. I posted his memories from his first New York City Marathon on the blog years ago – here it is if you are interested.

Congrats to all of yesterday’s runners – 26.2 is a huge accomplishment!

Monday – 33 Min Full Body Flow (1 lb weights)

Quickly added this flow to my list of favorites within my Melissa Wood Health account. Really good one!

Tuesday – Melissa Wood Health Combo

  • 17 Min Standing Series (lower body focused- bodyweight)
  • 15 Min Standing Abs/Arms (bodyweight)

Bodyweight workouts should never be knocked as easy — they are still a challenge and super effective.

Wednesday – Melissa Wood Health Combo

  • 15 Min Cardio + Pliat Squat Series
  •  17 Min Arms (bodyweight)

It’s amazing how simply combining some cardio moves with squats can get your heart rate up so quickly!

Thursday – 4 Miles (easy)

I’m back home this morning and it was cold today – the first morning wearing my gloves!

Friday – 35 Min Pilates (1 lb weights + resistance band) + Walk

I wasn’t outside for long, maybe 25 minutes? I’m not sure, but it was COLD.

Saturday – 6 Miles

It was cold but beautiful outside. Today’s run felt like old times where things just flowed and the miles passed quickly.

Sunday – Melissa Wood Health Combo + Walk

  • 22 Min Power Yoga
  • 21 Min Abs + Booty (1 lb weights + ball)
