Variety of Workouts (weekly workout recap)

fall running

I didn’t run very much last week but I’ve learned that not running doesn’t mean not having good workouts. It’s still a little weird to me to like other types of workouts and even choose them instead of running.. Of course, I do still look at the weather forecast to check which days are good for running and still focus on making sure that my running shoes aren’t burned out but overall, it seems like running is just one of the workouts I add to my week rather than the main focus.

It’s nice to have a variety of workouts going on! That said, I did really enjoy my run yesterday after a rainy week with only one other run of 30 minutes over the last seven days.

*Workouts below are either from my access to Lifetime’s digital workouts or Melissa Wood Health

Monday – 45 Min Warrior Sculpt (3 lb weights)

I didn’t feel like running today but I did feel like a decently hard workout so I chose Warrior Sculpt.

Tuesday – 45 Min FIRE (HIIT Yoga)

It was a Nor’Easter outside this morning so no walking or running for me! It’s unusual for me to do hard workouts two days in a row but I felt like it so I went with FIRE which is a HIIT yoga type of workout– IT’S SO GOOD.

HIIT yoga is challenging in a good way and leaves me crazy sweaty without the draining after effects.

Wednesday – 15 Min Standing Abs & Arms (1 lb weights) + 40 Min Walk

My lower body is definitely sore from the last few days! Also, lots of leaves on the ground this week.

Thursday – 15 Min Full Body Power Flow (bodyweight) + 30 Min Run

My first run since Saturday. I kinda barely notice? It was nice to run today but 30 minutes was enough to satisfy me.

Friday – 24 Min Cardio Warm-Up with Flow (bodyweight) + 40 Min Walk

Saturday – 49 Min Warrior Sculpt (3 lb weights)

Another rainy morning — I had forgotten how much I liked this particular Warrior Sculpt workout!

Sunday – 5 Miles (easy)

By today I was definitely happy to see the sun and be able to run!
