Lighter Week In Workouts (catching up)

Much lighter week in workouts to report today!

I haven’t posted since last Monday which is unusual for me but I had warned there was a chance that would happen. So let’s catch up!

Last week was amazing yet basically all-consuming in that I was back and forth to the city from Tuesday afternoon through early evening Thursday for work meetings. It was a truly wonderful learning experience plus super great to see everyone (since most of us are spread out around the world with only a few of us here in New York).

My workout routine was affected in that there was NO WAY I was getting up any earlier than I had to squeeze my usual run, walk, or Pure Barre workout in before I had to leave for the city. My sleep was definitely more important so that I was able to be at my best mentally during the long days ahead. While yes, a workout can boost your energy levels both mentally and physically, I am not the type who can sacrifice sleep. I need as many hours as I can get!

I see nothing wrong with a couple of days off from routine, especially when you are busy doing something important.

Monday – Really Long Walk

I didn’t plan on walking for as long as I did (something like an hour and a half!) but I ended up on the phone for a while and the time just flew by. I think I walked around 5 miles? That’s really long for me.

Tuesday – 30 Min Run/15 Min Pure Barre

I had time this morning before going into the city later in the day so I went with a 30-minute run followed by quick Pure Barre workout where I combined a 10 min seat/abs workout plus 5 minutes for arms.

Not sure why my first mile, which is usually my warm-up mile, came in faster than the rest of my run. I didn’t feel faster so I wonder if Runkeeper was accurate on this day, or a little bit off.

Wednesday – In City

No workout today as I left too early to be in the city. It’s worth noting how happy I was to see breakfast both mornings when arriving at our meetings. Even though I always eat breakfast before leaving the house, it was nice to have some fruit and coffee to keep me going through the morning meetings.

Thursday – In City

I took the train into the city today because I didn’t feel like driving again today. We could count my morning walk from the train to 52nd/5th (where our meetings were being held) and even count the walk back to the train. It was so nice out today that I didn’t bother catching a cab. I wanted the fresh air and a little bit of movement especially since I was sitting most of the day. I really do love a good walk!

Worth noting the afternoon ice cream break during today’s meetings. 🙂

Friday – 45 Min Walk/10 Min Pure Barre

I was home today but still pretty tired from the week so running was just not happening today. My mood was more for fresh air while walking, knowing I will probably be more up for running this weekend.

Saturday – Another Walk

I was in the city again today (not for work) which interfered with my usual Saturday workout window. When I was home later in the day, I went for a walk.

Sunday – 30 Min Run/30 Min Walk

I ran 30 minutes easy and then walked another 30 minutes or so. I was not in the mood to run more than I did and didn’t feel like Pure Barre.

Hopefully, I get back to routine this week with some quality runs and Pure Barre workouts!
