Pizza, A Pretzel, Links I’m Loving

In some ways this week went fast. In others, I’m not sure what took Friday so long to get here. I missed my usual midweek post but don’t worry, I didn’t eat anything out of the ordinary worth reporting.

You know, just the usual around here. It’s almost embarrassing how often I eat pizza for dinner but whatever — I’ve put in enough time in the kitchen over the years to deserve a break these last few several months from cooking all the time.

I may not post every day but I do check my stats, including the keywords that land people here on my blog. Yesterday someone googled, “black lipstick selfie” and found my blog. Please help me to understand. I don’t own black lipstick nor did I ever post a selfie wearing black lipstick. So where’s the connection to me? Lipstick in general? I’m not even big on selfies. This google search term is definitely on the baffling side! Usually people find me when they need someone to rationalize cake for lunch. Yes, people actually ask google if it’s okay to have cake for lunch and they find me, the girl who has said in the past that it most certainly is acceptable.

Anyway.

The winter mornings have been rough for me and this week is no exception. Especially today. We went to the Islanders game last night. Remember last week when I couldn’t find the popcorn in the Coliseum? I still couldn’t find it last night even though I saw other people eating it. The popcorn is becoming quite elusive in that building. Instead I had a pretzel. It was just okay, sounded like a good idea in the moment.

So I’m tired in the dark, winter mornings but still making sure to get up early enough to read some articles and browse my favorite clothing sites so that I feel balanced and ready for the day ahead. I’m not the type of person to wake up only minutes before needing to rush out the door!

Maintaining Running Fitness During Winter  –Laura and I talk about this all the time so I am glad she wrote a post on the subject! You already know that I don’t see the need to run every day and definitely agree that it’s more than okay to run even less during the winter months. You can still maintain your fitness and even gain strength and ability in the process of choosing other forms of exercise in place of miles.

This Aqua Fit and Flare Dress reminds me of  my Kate Spade dress for like a third of the price. This one looks just like it too, and it’s on sale for $42!

Also on big sale but not many left, this shoot the tube choker top that I have from Bailey 44. I wore it on New Years although you can’t totally tell in this post. If you like my Bailey dresses, this velvet fit and flare is on major sale. This brand is always worth it.

I’m still looking at workout clothes — this Nike Elastika Dri-FIT Performance Tank Top  looks cute, doesn’t it? Need to try it on. I did end up getting this Cool Racerback II tank from Lululemon — I absolutely love how it fits! It wasn’t on sale but it’s worth it. I bought the white and may need the black. Definitely recommend this top.
