Oh, hi! See, I’m back with my workout recaps on a Sunday!
This week was interesting in that more than usual, I totally had to go with the flow of life and situations out of my control in order to get my workouts accomplished. There were two days when out of nowhere, spur of the moment weird things worked against the initial workout plan that I had (you will see below) and then on Wednesday, I had my hair done which meant no running until at least Saturday because I didn’t want to ruin it with sweat too soon. 🙂
Thankfully I am fine with last-minute changes to my workout routine. I laughed at the last-minute need to switch things up and felt grateful for no longer caring about running higher mileage on a regular basis. In all honesty, I still marvel at the fact that I run so much less than I used to and sometimes wonder why I ever wanted to run more than I am running right now. Obviously my mileage still fluctuates slightly depending upon my mood but what’s nice about that is, it’s totally driven by my mood. If I don’t feel like running or only want to run a few miles, I pay much closer attention to that which means when I am actually running, I am enjoying it rather than waiting for the enjoyment to kick in after a few miles. This is not to say that I don’t still agree that the first mile or two can sometimes be a bit bleh until you are warmed up, it’s more to say that quite often I do think runners push themselves into thinking (both consciously and subconsciously) they need to run a lot more than they actually desire or physically need and then struggle to make up miles when things interfere with their plans/get in a mood when it doesn’t go their way.
Anyway, let’s take a look at my workouts!
Monday – 6 Miles
I was on the phone during this run!
Tuesday – 30 Min Pure Barre/ 40 Min Walk
I had actually set out for a run but then my phone randomly shut off within a few steps! I’m not really sure why this happened and when I restarted it, the battery was almost dead which made no sense but whatever, I went home to charge it and chose a 30 Min Pure Barre workout to do during the charging time. After Pure Barre (which was great, I never did this specific workout before!) I went back outside for a walk. I wasn’t going to run at this point and figured I can always run tomorrow.
Wednesday – 6 Miles
It rained overnight but stopped in time for me to run outside. It was super humid though which made this run feel even harder than it should have but I did push my pace at various points and it felt great. I guess we can call it a fartlek run. I didn’t time my intervals but I definitely increased my effort often through the run!
Thursday- 30 Min Walk
Well this was interesting. Today I planned to do a 30 minute Pure Barre workout before leaving for the city but suddenly, my internet wouldn’t load (this never happens!) so I couldn’t load the Pure Barre website for Pure Barre On Demand. It was so weird! Rather than wait around trying to figure it out or dig out a Pure Barre DVD, I headed outside for a quick walk as I was short on time.
Oh, I wasn’t running today (or tomorrow) because I had my hair cut and highlighted yesterday which means I can’t mess up my hair just yet. 🙂
Friday – 45 Min Pure Barre/30 Min Walk
I couldn’t resist a walk after my Pure Barre workout since the weather is so pretty and perfect right now!
Saturday – 7 Miles
Not really sure what to say about this run. I was excited to get outside but I didn’t feel like I had my usual energy although I was happy to stay outside for an hour.
Sunday – Pure Barre
So I’ve heard about Pure Reform starting up soon in the Pure Barre studios and received an email from my local studio just yesterday mentioning the new class. I decided that once I see it on the schedule, I will definitely try it and report back!

Are you good about making a quick change to your workouts if something interferes at the last minute?
Anyone else looking to try Pure Reform or already tried it?
Love the hair cut. You look great.
I have really wanted to take a Reformer class for a while now! You will have to let me know how that class goes. I’m usually pretty flexible in changing my training based on my schedule.
I set my daily workout as run for 40 mins in the early morning (often take a 10 mins break by walking for each 20 mins of running) and extra 30 mins of walking after dinner (It’s better to rest 30 mins before the walk) . This regular schedule helps to maintain my exercise but not put more pressure on my body.
