Favorites: Pure Barre Anniversary + Cake + Bralettes

Okay this week WENT SO FAST. I am not complaining as I am totally ready for the weekend but geez, where is the time going? My son has been away now for three weeks and still has another week to go but my goodness, it’s just like that and his teen tour of the west coast is about to come to a close!

If you have been paying attention, my son and my friend’s daughter are on the same teen tour, just in two different groups, usually two days apart on their locations. My friend is busy monitoring their locations on Snapchat (which I have shared in a few posts because it’s so funny) and the other day we were very excited to finally see them in the same place!

How funny is this one? They weren’t actually standing together, just in the same building at UCLA at the time. Ha, Snapchat has them all ready for college.

These kids have been living the life this week in California. So far they have covered the beaches, Disney Land, Universal Studios, the San Diego Zoo, and um, Rodeo Drive just yesterday. So jealous!

Anyway, I do have a few favorites of my own this week to share!

Favorite Fitness:

Two favorites this week for fitness!

Running in my new pair of Solar Boosts is obviously at the top of my list this week. I even ran three days in a row which is not typical, I just couldn’t help it! New running shoes are the best.

Also! This week is my 4 year Pure Barre anniversary! Can you believe it, my first class was 4 years ago!

Last year I wrote about my 3 year Pure Barre anniversary and since writing that post, I have shared two other Pure Barre posts worth mentioning again. All three of these posts are super popular with the search engines every day which leads me to believe others are loving Pure Barre too? Or at least interesting in learning more.

Pure Barre FAQ: Your Pure Barre Questions Answered

Pure Barre has now been a part of my weekly life on an incredibly consistent basis for four solid years. How crazy is that? I swear I NEVER enjoyed strength training until I found Pure Barre and became hooked on the method. If you still haven’t tried barre, please try it!

Favorite Food:

Chocolate cake. No further comment.

Remember to check my Nordstrom sale picks! Also, I have been wanting a bralette that looks cute under certain tops while also giving a little support. I bought this one from Hanky Panky and love how it fits. It comes in a bunch of colors too! Also, depending upon the shirt you need to wear it with, this t-back bralette looks great as well.

And before I go, I wanted to share this link, 9 Reasons It’s Time To Move On from Marc and Angel Hack Life. Their posts always pop up for me on Facebook and this is an especially good one.

Have a great weekend!

Hi! I'm Meredith. Join me while I run and cook my way through single motherhood. It is always an adventure trying to teach my 12 year old son the benefits of an active lifestyle combined with healthy eating while of course, still leaving room for dessert.

  1. Now I want chocolate cake. Specifically that one because it looks amazing and delicious.

On my agenda for the weekend is the Taylor Swift concert on Sunday and that’s about it. Fingers crossed it doesn’t rain. Have a great weekend!

  2. Thank you for sharing the article about moving on. I went through a heart-wrenching break-up 4 weeks ago with someone I thought would be my forever person. I know in my brain that it had to happen, but my heart still doesn’t understand. That article has some helpful reasons why letting the past stay in the past is crucial for me to feel happy and healthy now, and in the future.

    1. I can totally understand what you are saying — at some point it will make sense even though it is very painful and confusing to live through. Articles like this help us to realize that even though at the time, it’s so confusing and makes no sense, even when it sort of makes sense. if that makes sense lol. Break ups are the worst! xoxox

  3. That trip sounds like so much fun! I am now wishing I was in California on a road trip, haha.

I don’t have many concrete plans this weekend. Just lunch with one of my besties and visiting my parents! It’s nice to have a few weekends that aren’t totally packed with activities 🙂

  4. Love that link by Marc and Angel…so timely! That cake looks amazing! Have a great weekend, my friend!
