A little bit of a different style of Friday Favorites for today!
I needed a break from writing yesterday so I spent my extra time browsing the web (longer than usual) instead.
You probably already know this, but a lot of what I read and have interest in has nothing to do with running, fitness, or food. In my spare time, I like to read a ton of beauty and fashion blogs along with perusing store websites for clothing and accessories. At the same time, I read about hockey every day and mainly use my Twitter for following and interacting with the very funny Islanders fans!
I think the variety of my other interests helps to keep my brain fresh and not burned out on any particular topic while also satisfying my forever love for hockey, fashion and makeup. 🙂
Anyway, I came across some links I found worth sharing with you today on this Friday before we turn the clocks ahead!
First, this great read from Marc and Angel, 10 Notes To Self We Need To Read 10 Times a Day Until They Sink In.This is one of their best posts! don’t even know which note is my favorite.
Definitely #1: It’s a great reminder for us bloggers. “Anything you do or say gets filtered through the lens of whatever they are going through at the moment which has nothing to do with you.”
Totally #4: HELLO MY DIVORCE. “You can’t move forward if you keep moving back.” And #10 too. “It’s funny how we outgrow what we once thought we couldn’t live without.”

Scrunchies Are Back And Better Than Ever – I’ve been wearing scrunchies regardless of trend but it’s great to know that they are officially back in style and available more readily in stores! I want this pink velvet scrunchie from Forever 21 plus this velvet sequin scrunchie too! Ah, I feel like it’s 1991 again!
5 Rose Gold Sneakers All Fashion Girls Will Flip For – I LOVE ROSE GOLD. Just love. Rose Gold is my all-time favorite metallic (and metallics are a major trend right now both in fashion and event decor. Fashion and event trends tend to trend together). I choose Rose Gold whenever I can, including my jewelry and most recently my lip gloss! I did a super cute sneaker post a while back which included a few cute Rose Gold sneaker options!
12 Army Jackets To Up Your Streetwear Game – Army jackets are EVERYWHERE this spring. Good thing I already got mine a few months ago. I went with one with additional detailing to make it more fun. It has black ribbon laced up the back and a little on the sleeves too. I can’t find the link but I bought it at Ruby and Jenna.
^Oh! Those are my Gap Sparkle Velvet Leggings! Can you see the sparkle? Did I ever mention these velvet leggings? LOVE THEM.
So when it comes to Instagram, I’m sort of meh about it right now. A lot of what I see in my Instagram feed doesn’t interest me lately or makes me question the sanity of some people. Or really, the reality they choose to curate. Post for another day I think!
Since I juggle so many social media accounts for work, my personal accounts tend to get tossed aside most of the day which is probably a good thing!
However, when I do scroll my feed, my favorite posts are from Sarcasm Only. The quotes always crack me up!

Anyone else feeling sort of meh about some of the accounts they follow? How often do you go through your feed and unfollow what you are finding less than inspiring?

I think for me the most annoying thing about Instagram is that it picks what posts to show you now. So I don’t necessarily see posts from everyone I follow! Or I see them like 5 days later. Usually when someone follows me I follow back but if their account is just ridiculous then I unfollow. I had no idea scrunchies were back in style!
I know, I don’t know why they had to change the format so we can’t see the newest posts first!

I remember scrunchies from when I was growing up! I used to sleep with them in all the time to keep my hair out of my face. I’ve had an army jacket for years. Glad it’s going to be trendy this spring!
I didn’t know Scrunchies were back in! I am sometimes so behind on trends. I wore my share of them back in the 90s! I almost got a Kuhl army jacket last year and wish I had!
Some other interests include guitar playing, theater, fashion, and Harry Potter hehe. I don’t really go on Unfollow sprees, but I just occasionally prune it lol, just randomly unfollow someone whose content has for a while been grating on me or not really interesting me. It’s never a personal thing toward the person; just a me thing. Ooooh, okay follow @Overheardnewyork, @crazyjewishmom, @betches….
It is amazing how things you thought you couldn’t live without are suddenly no big deal. How time changes us, huh?!
I love a good army jacket.
