Trader Joe’s Shop + A Few Weekend Meals

I didn’t plan to share another Trader Joe’s shop so quickly! However, I realized I was throwing some different things in my cart in comparison to last week so I took a picture of the cart to discuss it with you today.

First, they restocked the everything but the bagel sesame seasoning blend! I was super happy about that. If you are looking for ways to use the seasoning, I wrote a post filled with ideas here.

Also in my cart this week worth highlighting:

Cinnamon: I go through cinnamon really fast as I use it every morning in my oatmeal.

Cruciferous Crunch: The blend of kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, green cabbage and red cabbage used to be a favorite of mine. I hadn’t bought it in a while so I figured I would bring it back for a change. The other night I made pizza (using the Trader Joe’s whole wheat pizza dough) and included the cruciferous crunch on top of the sauce and under the cheese while it was cooking and it was delicious.

Carrot spirals: I am still annoyed that they stopped carrying the colorful carrot coins but the carrot spirals (in the frozen section) are great to have on hand. They heat up really well and have great texture.

Tricolor Quinoa: I go through a lot of quinoa because I like to make a pot of it (usually mixed with lentils) each week to have for salads and dinners. Today I plan to make my black bean and quinoa chili to have for dinner.

Chickenless Tenders: Good to have in the freezer, my son likes them.

Potato Fries: Another important freezer staple.

Moving on to a few things from the weekend…

I ran into my friend Dina in the mall on Saturday. It’s always so funny when this happens because we speak every day, all day (remember we are good friends turned co-workers) so random, unplanned run-ins are hysterical to us.

Anyway, we passed this C Cups machine and she wanted to try it. Have you seen one of these? It makes fresh orange juice while you stand there with nothing but squeezed oranges? No water or added anything added.

Dina let me have the first sip (two straws somehow came out of the machine) and I agreed so long as she took a picture for the blog.

I actually liked it! I say actually because when it comes to orange juice, I’ve always been really particular. I’m a Tropicana girl (no pulp!) all the way.

So my son and I ended up at The Cheesecake Factory later in the day on Saturday. He’s been going there mostly with his friends lately so it was nice for me to get a chance to go with him again!

He was super hungry (I think it’s his appetite from now going to the gym) so we started with the Thai lettuce wraps. I love the lettuce wraps, I just eat everything but the chicken and he only really wants the chicken so it’s perfect.

Best salad ever.

Yesterday was a major rainy day which I think is why this latte tasted extra delicious. Or maybe it was just that good.

We ended up at my parents for dinner and my dad had the genius idea of bringing in from Mother Kelly’s. I chose the vegetable medley which to me is really a vegetable parmagiana.

Every vegetable including a few pieces of eggplant under all of that cheese. So super delicious.

Have a great week!

  1. TJ’s whole wheat pizza dough is amazing! The pizza sauce from there is also my favorite and I always buy multiple tubs to keep in my freezer.

I think the best thing I ate this weekend was dinner last night. Nothing fancy but I love pesto so shredded chicken, broccoli, tortellini and pesto was perfect.

  2. You’ve got some of my personal Trader Joe’s favorites in there! (The Mac & cheese is so good!) I’m currently obsessed with their Everythjng Bagel seasoning and their frozen gnocchi!

  3. Those C Cups sound interesting- Ive never heard of them before! I used to really like orange juice but now it kind of gives me heartburn. We never keep it in the house so its totally random when I do drink it.
