What I Ate In Las Vegas

All things considered, I did a decent job of taking pictures in order to recap most of what I ate in Las Vegas.

It’s hard to take pictures when you are trying to just live in the moment!

As you may know, there are TONS of amazing restaurants in Las Vegas. Although I am definitely a foodie, we didn’t allow ourselves to get caught up in which restaurants we had to go to and instead, went with the flow. I just can’t stress myself out over these things because it takes away the fun and relaxation aspect of being away. Also, a lot of the must-try restaurants have locations here in New York too.

Overall, every meal was terrific and I look forward to returning to Las Vegas again, hopefully soon!

Breakfasts:

We stayed at the Aria and the buffet was a must!  I could eat every meal for the rest of my life at this buffet. While there were other breakfast spots in the hotel or even at other hotels, we loved the buffet so why mess with a good thing?

Of course I went with oatmeal (I’m such a creature of habit) but I added a yogurt for the protein. Lots of berries, bananas foster, and apple compote too.

They had these giant pancakes at the buffet where the server would cut you a slice along with a variety of other pancakes, little waffles, and French toast.

I’m not one to acknowledge the savory breakfast foods but there was pizza with an egg on top.

Unpictured but not forgotten are the bites from a chocolate muffin and  some crumbled in my oatmeal because who can resist the dessert side of a breakfast buffet?

Lunches:

We arrived in Las Vegas fairly early in the morning (well, morning their time, early afternoon my internal clock time). Our first stop after dropping our bags in the room just so happened to be the buffet. While others were eating breakfast, I went right for lunch because I felt as though it was lunchtime. This is what makes a buffet great.   Every meal option available at any time of the day or night.

This plate (times two, I went up again for a repeat plate just like this) made me so happy and I will dream about that mushroom pizza forever. I need to find out exactly what kind of cheese was involved because of course now I forget.

Lots of desserts to choose from too.

I liked this little chocolate cake the best.

We really enjoyed Julian Serrano which is a tapas restaurant. I didn’t get pictures of the six plates we ordered but managed this one of the spicy tuna cones.

And this picture of the rock shrimp salad. Everything was so delicious!

One afternoon we hung out at The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan.

Dinners:

One night we had dinner at Javier’s which was a great Mexican restaurant. In addition to a really tall glass of sangria with chips, salsa, and guacamole, I had this salad. We also had chocolate cake for dessert now that I think about it.

javiers

I didn’t get pictures from another dinner but I had the most amazing garlic truffle French fries and margarita pizza too. Also, instead of desserts late at night, I found myself eating pizza at FIVE50 Pizza Bar which was not a bad thing. I really liked the pizza in Las Vegas!

Our flight home to New York from Las Vegas got in late Friday night. We were pretty hungry and screwed up with the time change so we stopped at a diner on the way home from the airport.

Giant matzoh ball!

And a big salad.

In case anyone is interested, I HIGHLY recommend the Aria. It’s a beautiful hotel/resort in the CityCenter part of the strip next to the Cosmopolitan with 11 restaurants, three pools, three outdoor hot tubs, a spa, and really nice accommodations. I do not have a complaint to share and would easily stay there again. The Crystal Shops were a nice feature too. I liked walking around all of the stores. And, there’s a tram that connects to the Bellagio as well if you are tired from walking.

^ View from my room. The mountains everywhere fascinated me. 🙂

Can you tell that I really liked what I ate in Las Vegas?!
