BBQ Ranch Salad at The Cheesecake Factory

Lisa sent me an email yesterday morning wondering if I was having comment/comment reply issues. I had no idea that I was but after looking into things, some of your comments have been going to spam and many of my comment replies were not being emailed! I apologize if I didn’t receive your comment/you didn’t receive my reply! The replies were posting on the blog but not being sent via email/sometimes landing in spam.

Let’s take a look at what I ate yesterday and hope that your comments and my replies are received today!

Breakfast:

I always have a full mug of coffee (plus a lot of water which is unpictured) before my run. I took this picture thinking I would eat just a banana before my run but I ended up, as usual, mashing half into a small amount of oatmeal instead. I don’t know, I just like eating a bit of a warm breakfast before heading outside, even in the summer.

My favorite meal of the day: post-run oatmeal. I have been enjoying the oatmeal cold and then I add berries, mandarin orange slices, Skoop B-Strong plus Trader Joe’s Muesli and some almond milk too. Oh so good.

Lunch:

I am back to my mashed chickpeas and avocado craze! For yesterday’s lunch, I mashed my chickpeas with avocado, adding a little bit of Dijon mustard and diced plum tomatoes served with side of roasted Japanese sweet potato wedges.

Dinner:

We were planning to go to The Cheesecake Factory for dinner so I had an apple with some peanut butter before we left to hold me over between lunch and dinner.

One day I may try one of the new Super Foods salads at The Cheesecake Factory but yesterday wasn’t that day.

Dessert:

We did not order cake at The Cheesecake Factory. My son was way too full from dinner so although I always have room for dessert, I didn’t want to put him over the edge by ordering any cake knowing he wouldn’t be able to resist once he saw it < – The sacrifices one makes as a parent.

I ended up having a Quest Bar later on in the evening. I don’t even think I ate the whole thing. I sort of just picked at it while staring at my pantry and it did the trick as the something sweet before bed.

Have you tried any of those fairly new super foods salads at The Cheesecake Factory? I know there is a falafel one and a vegan cobb that both look good!

Hi! I'm Meredith. Join me while I run and cook my way through single motherhood. It is always an adventure trying to teach my 12 year old son the benefits of an active lifestyle combined with healthy eating while of course, still leaving room for dessert.

  1. I hope your get your comment stuff figured out! I still need to look into mine. My plugin is just called “Comment Reply Notification”. Every time I post I get at least 1-2 comments that go to my spam so I always check in there, and I usually clean it out every day so its easier to find the “real” comments.
I haven’t been to the Cheesecake Factory in forever so I wouldn’t know about any new salads! My go-to emergency snack lately has been the Healthy Grains Kind Bars. They are a nice switch from LaraBars that I had been eating just about every day!

    1. let me know if you get this comment reply! I think that’s the plug in I use but you are better than me with the spam – I check from time to time but I get so much real spam that to go through it all is overwhelming. I need to though and I will!

  2. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my favorite Quest bar flavor, I have one with fruit and coffee for breakfast every morning! Haha!

My go to snack has been dark chocolate covered cashews or almonds, paired with apple slices at night!

  3. I’m hoping that I’m not having comment issues 😕 I’m so bad at looking through my spam at a regular basis, and then it all piles up to the point where there’s no way I could go through it 1 by 1. Did you end up getting the Comment Reply Notification plugin? I like that one and don’t really have any problems with it. Hope you get things all sorted soon!

  4. I love Cheesecake Factory but there isn’t one close to me in the city so I rarely go! So sad. I don’t even remember the last meal I had there. Favorite Quest bar flavor is probably the cookie dough!

  5. You tease me with that CF salad! It’s just too good. Oddly there was a day (Monday?) both your and Lisa’s comments went to spam but I unspammed both of you. So strange. Those sweet potatoes look so perfectly roasted 🙂

  6. That looks like one of the best salads I’ve ever seen. I love piling the salads.

And cold oatmeal for breakfast is really good and satisfying in the summer. Hmm… Is this bad? i don’t really like Quest Bars, because it’s weird, but they’re a bit too sweet for me. It’s just more of a personal preference thing.

The Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factor is really good, but I don’t think we always get cake when we go either.

I did have comment issues too; there was one person who regularly came to my blog who would comment and get dumped into the Spam folder. She actually posted in the blogger’s group that we’re a part of, the BGB Community, and she brought that to the attention of the group that it’s possible to get some real comments dumped into Spam. I thought, ‘Uh-oh,’ and sure enough, I found some comments in there. O_O

  7. I don’t know how you resisted the cake! I have zero self control when it comes to my favorite restaurants and I don’t mind one bit haha you’re a good mom 😉

I can’t get on board with Quest bars. I tried the cinnamon roll flavor once and it tasted like playdough to me haha but I do love roasted potatoes!

  8. I like the cookie dough, chocolate chunk, and cookies and cream Quest bars. I’ve tried most of the flavors, and those seem to be the best. I don’t particularly like protein bars and don’t eat them often but they are great when I’m traveling and can’t find food. I find the Quest bars acceptable (they are the only ones I’ll eat), mostly because they don’t have all the added sugar that many of the other ones do and they actually taste OK.
