Friday night’s weather was not ideal for dinner at Prime so as much as I wanted to try their new Movie Theater Sundae, we changed our reservations.
I wasn’t disappointed though, we went to Kashi which is probably my favorite spot for sushi.
I still wanted a sundae so we went to Ben & Jerry’s. I had the banana peanut butter greek yogurt with hot fudge, whipped cream and crunchies.
I also tasted their new vegan pb & cookies flavor. It was definitely good, nothing amazing.
Saturday morning after my run I made a decision on carpet for my son’s room. Remember I randomly decided I was redecorating? This will be fun!
The weather this week went from hazy, hot and humid to cold and cloudy on Saturday that it was a perfect indoor shopping day. I love my window shopping days at the mall while eating Red Mango.
I can’t get these cute Valentino sneakers out of my mind though. I have been trying to rationalize why I would need to spend my money on them. It’s all about the stars. I am a sucker for stars.
Whenever I am asked to list the things I can’t live without or what I would need to bring with me on a desert island, my hairbrush is one of my top three items.
I have been using a Mason Pearson hairbrush since I am a little girl. It’s THE BEST hairbrush there is, no comparison. Trust me. It’s worth every single penny if you have straight hair.
I last replaced my Mason Pearson hairbrush in 1999. I saw this display in Neiman Marcus and started thinking maybe I need a new one just because the new ones are so nice and shiny but really, there’s nothing wrong with mine.
I took a ride out east with my friends (alongside the Hampton Jitney buses which always make me think of Sex and the City leaving the city to go to the Hamptons) to the outlet stores.
This means I finally went to the lululemon outlet!
They set up the lululemon outlet store by size and yes, they have a ton of stuff but I didn’t get anything. I really didn’t need anything and the pricing is the same as the sale price online/in store so it wasn’t a crazy bargain.
In yesterday’s workout recap post I mentioned wanting to select a new Pure Barre streaming workout. I chose the Pure Barre Streaming Workout: Feature Focus on Thighs and tried it for the first time yesterday morning.
I will need to do this Pure Barre workout a few more times before I can really review it but after just one time, I can say that I made a terrific choice!
I spent most of yesterday getting a handle on packing up the camp trunks for my son. I have been storing almost all of my son’s camp stuff by my parents because I would rather take up a room over at their house with his camp necessities than a room at my house.
My dad helped me organize the insanity that was piled up around the room. We loosely packed up I would say half of the camp stuff and still have half left to finalize next weekend PLUS a few more things to purchase.
I can’t wait to close up the soft trunks and see them leave for camp because the packing list has been a huge part of my To Do list for so many months.
Gotta run (literally!), have a great Monday!

Do you have a favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor? Have you tried their new vegan flavors?
What kind of hairbrush do you use?
What’s on the workout agenda for today?
That’s annoying that even the lulu outlets aren’t outlet prices! Haven’t bought anything in forever and probably won’t until maybe the fall. If B&J had vegan + gf I might be tempted to try!
oh, I am not sure if gluten free too? maybe it is? I don’t think to look for it since I don’t need it but I bet there’s a possibility it is since so many people need gluten free? we need to check!
I love the Ben and Jerry’s vegan flavors! I eliminated dairy from my diet last year so it’s great to find ice cream that actually tastes normal. This morning I just did a nice easy walk to sort out my hamstring issue.
nothing worse than ice cream trying to be ice cream and tasting terrible!
Lol I still keep things stored at my parents’ place that I don’t want to keep in my place. To be fair, though, they have a tonne of extra room that they don’t need whereas I have like… 2 closets. And I feel like I’e heard about that hairbrush but never tried it. I’m gonna guess you recommend I change that? 😛
100% you need to get a mason pearson hairbrush. no comparison!
The last time I had Ben & Jerrys I had some chocolate yogurt flavor and it waa so good. I’ve never tried vegan ice cream, although the coconut milk ones sound good but those are never as common as almond milk vegan ice cream. I usually just go with the real stuff and accept any potential stomach ache—since I don’t eat ice cream often it’s worth it.
I get a stomach ache too from ice cream so I really try to order the frozen yogurt versions when a place has them.
Packing for camp is a pre-curser to what it’s like to pack your child up for college–ugh!!! Tell us about the hair brush?? How’s is it different? Also Kashi Restaurant was awesome. You had put it on our list and we loved it!! As we loved the other ones you recommended. I wouldn’t have gone to Prime either but on a gorgeous night. The venue is part of its charm. My family is big into Ralph’s. We were at a location out on the island last evening. They opened one in Westchester and we were there last week and the line was a mile long.
omg the mason pearson is the only hairbrush I have ever used! it’s something about the natural bristle. there’s no comparison brand out there. It lasts for so long that the price becomes irrelevant. I had one as a little girl growing up, replaced it when I was 20 and have been using that one ever since! It’s reviewed in In Style every year when they do their best beauty products issue – this brush always wins. And packing for camp is killer! I told my son it’s prep for college, I just said it this morning lol
My favorite Ben and Jerry’s is the banana peanut butter greek frozen yogurt – so good! Before I was diagnosed with celiacs my favorite was half baked 🙂
you and I think alike because it’s the only flavor I ever get anymore there! it was really good on Friday, lots of peanut butter in it
I used to love the Ben and Jerry’s oatmeal cookie chunk flavor, and then they discontinued it! So messed up. I have the straightest hair in all the land so I may need to look into that hair brush. And those Valentino sneaks are adorable!!!
best hairbrush ever. seriously. worth every penny!
I feel like the outlet is hit or miss. I agree that the pricing is the same as the sale pricing, but sometimes things are on sale there that aren’t on sale in the regular stores which is nice. I’ve had really good luck there and really bad luck. I’m glad you finally made it there to try though! I owe you an email. So bummed you didn’t make it to Prime. I wanted to see this sundae hah
ha I know, but I still had a sundae! I will get to prime when it’s nicer out
We have a Lulu outlet near us and I never buy anything there just because they don’t stock the popular styles and colours, and when they do it’s only like $5 off regular price. They get us all excited for no reason!
that’s what outlet stores do – trigger excitement but rarely do I find anything!
Workout today consisted of swimming 40 laps in the pool! I was in NYC this weekend and my legs were aching from all the running around we did!
Favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavor – Their oatmeal cookie flavor! I think they only sell it in some shops but it’s SO good.
it was actually nice to be here this weekend even though it was cloudy- the heat wave was over! I saw the oatmeal cookie flavor!
I think it’s silly Lulu has an outlet when the prices are like $10 cheaper. There’s one within walking distance of my house and I almost never go there because it’s junky and not cheap.
that’s the thing with outlet stores – they aren’t ever really much of a bargain. And, way too many make straight to outlet products which are never as good as the usual stuff!
That sushi looks so good! What a bummer about the Lulu outlet – the best part about an outlet is the crazy good bargains!
I’ve actually never tried Ben & Jerry’s ice cream before
I think I’m missing out, yes?
And on the agenda for me –> 60 minutes of yoga this evening. I was intending on doing a 4-mi run, but my legs feel like lead after last night’s Body Pump class!
pick up a pint when you see it at the store next!
