Things Worth Sharing

I turn around and it’s suddenly Friday. Not a bad thing!

I convinced my friend Lauren that she needed the Dior Cheek and Lip Glow when we were in the mall the other day and I still think you need it too.

Have you seen the latest Pro Compression socks? How pretty is the new Heather collection?!

Pro Compression Heather fresh

I want all the colors, but maybe I will just get the pink since I love pink. Or maybe the grey because it’s different. But the blue is such a pretty shade of blue.

Use coupon code HC15 for 40% off plus free shipping (good for the Heather collection and items listed on the sock of the month page). Code expires 3/31/15.

Some links worth sharing with you today:

First, if you are currently planning (or just dreaming about) your wedding day, I invite you to check out the pinterest boards I have been creating for AllSeated.

I work with AllSeated on their editorial content as well as social media so pinterest has been my latest project.

I may be divorced now but I just LOVED my wedding and all of those dainty detailed feelings that came along with being a bride.

Pinterest didn’t exist when I was a bride-to-be so getting to play around with it now, compiling the latest in bridal trends, is not only fun but keeps me from feeling left out!

I am obsessed at the moment with peonies in bouqets, OMG this cake is gorgeous but can it be filled with chocolate and the dresses, I still love big princess wedding dresses!

Of course I maintain my pinterest boards too!

A few of my newly pinned favorites:

30-Minute Healthier Cinnamon Rolls – Love how simple and easy this recipe looks and the ingredients list is short too!

20 Crazy-Easy Dinners You Can Make Fast –  I have a feeling that I will finally make my son that cheeseburger casserole. I know he will love it!

Easy Vegan Falafel – Been meaning to make my own falafel like yesterday.

31 Vegetarian Chick Pea Recipes – Such a versatile bean.

Passover is already next week.

Even if you aren’t Jewish, I think you may still enjoy the desserts I found!

9-Layer No-Bake Matzo Cake – I really want to try my hand at this.

Chocolate Dipped Chocolate Chip Macaroons –  I LOVE chocolate-covered macaroons and always wanted to make my own but wonder if mine can be as good at Shop Rite’s Passover candy counter.

**

I saw this post in a link from How Sweet Eats. It’s hysterical and so true on so many levels in regards to the life of a freelance writer.

I also found this Hungry Girl Newsletter informative regarding the different types of gluten-free flours (almond, coconut, garbanzo…)

And now I think I am about to last-minute register for a 10k tomorrow morning!

Why not, right?

I didn’t know about it until yesterday and even though tomorrow is technically long run day, I feel like challenging myself with something a little different from my usual routine.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi! I'm Meredith. Join me while I run and cook my way through single motherhood. It is always an adventure trying to teach my 12 year old son the benefits of an active lifestyle combined with healthy eating while of course, still leaving room for dessert.

  1. Don’t worry, all seated is on my list of things to do…..need to send the invites first though, but I have already started thinking about it, and all seated is definitely where I will go 🙂 Thanks for the links, I am loving pinterest right now!

  2. Ohhhh seating charts. Those were the days! I’m running with friends tomorrow (it is supposed to be terrible out, joy joy) and then the Shamrock Shuffle on Sunday, which will be mass hysteria and chaos haha. I’ve been working on re-doing my pinterest boards of late! http://pinterest.com/suzlyfe I hope that they are up to snuff!

    1. I feel like I am always redoing my pinterest boards and still have some work to do on them. It always happens that I feel the need to break down the desserts even more than I already have them broken down…Have a great weekend of running!

  3. I can’t decide which socks I want from the Heather collection either! They are all so awesome!
My pinterest board is pinterest.com/runningoutwine I go through phases with pinning…like for a week I’ll be on there every day and then I forget about it and neglect it for a bit. But I love finding recipes and house stuff on there!

  4. I’m currently planning (kind of) my wedding! Last year, I got engaged and immediately started panicking thinking about having a wedding. I was never one of those girls who dreamed about the big day- I never wanted one! So my fiance suggested that we just go to the Caribbean, just the two of us, and have a ceremony on the beach. Everything is planned for you, it’s beautiful, and now I’m sooo excited! We haven’t picked a day, but it’ll be sometime next Spring.

Good luck at the 10k! I love randomly signing up for races. No time to get nervous 😉 Happy Friday!

  5. I LOVE weddings and love looking at pinterest for ideas even though no matter how many times I ask my husband, we aren’t getting married again anytime soon…hehe! My wedding was 3 years ago and I feel like it will never be replaced as the best day of my life!

I can waste so much time on pinterest…I LOVE it! Here’s my link…I just found you!https://www.pinterest.com/sgaliyas/

Happy Friday and Good Luck in your race tomorrow! Spontaneity in fitness is so crucial…I love that you signed up last minute!

  6. No racing for me this weekend, but a whoooole lot of snowboarding! Provided that the snow doesn’t melt with the crazy nice weather that we’re supposed to get — not that I’m complaining! I love winter, but I definitely start craving warmer temps around March. Good luck this weekend!

  7. Hey, good luck in the race tomorrow! I find shorter races way super hard because it’s such a high effort. I’d almost rather settle into a relaxed pace for 20 miles than work super hard and try not to puke for 10k. But the shorter, intense distances are so good for training for the longer distances anyway. You’ll do great!

    1. I normally don’t sign up for races of distances less than half marathons but once in a while, I don’t mind a 10k. Just found out about it yesterday! I agree, would rather run longer and slower but a 10k is easier for me than a 5k- I really dislike 5k’s!

  8. Good luck on the 10K! Nothing like the last minute 🙂 Also, this morning there was a girl that looked like you in my spin class. For a second I thought you really flew to Chicago and surprised me in a class ha 🙂 Happy Friday!

  9. I love chocolate dipped macaroons too and was going to try to make some this weekend to test for passover! Just stocked up on some gluten free matzoh too 🙂 Shoprite was already crazy this morning, lots of hysterical Jewish people very confused over what’s kosher for passover and what isn’t 😉

    1. OMG I was at Shop Rite before – the parking lot was worse than ever, truly every man for themselves lol. I didn’t buy anything from the candy counter yet and I am totally considering making my own chocolate covered macaroons. Those are my favorite!

  10. Everyone is so obsessed with wedding planning. It stresses me out to even think about weddings. They are so expensive and time consuming these days!

  11. Good luck for your race! I went to a spin class with my sister this morning which got cancelled so I sat on a bike and played on instagram.

Two of my friends are getting married and I zone out when they discuss it with me…Can I use the male pass for that?

  12. Oh I love peonies. I love all flowers really. I’m so happy to be back to blogging and reading your blog again! I’ve missed you all. I think I’ve finally gotten the whole having 3 kids and trying to figure out a video camera down a little better.
