The winner of the LOVE O’s Giveaway is Ashlee!
Remember, if you live near a King Soopers, City Market, Dillons, Kroger or Fry store, you can still pick up a box of the Limited Edition LOVE O’s for the next few weeks. I highly recommend it!
So yesterday I left off saying I was taking a rest day.
But hear me out as to why I decided to run a few miles (three miles to be exact)….
Can you see how warm it was?! It was almost 40 degrees and there was no ice and it’s not going to be that warm or ice free again anytime soon.
I just had to.
I knew you would understand.
And, I am pretty sure you understand and relate to that feeling when you twist open a fresh jar of Crunch Time peanut butter….
It’s so crunchy on top!
I can never find pretty dish towels but then when I find them, I don’t want to use them because they are too pretty.
I don’t make sweet potato pizza bites often enough and I really don’t know why because they are so super good.
I added some spinach for this batch which was nutritionally genius of me.
My house was invaded by middle school boys Friday night who turned me down for a trip to the frozen yogurt store (I don’t understand either) so I made them the next best thing.
Smores.
Toaster oven smores are so fast and easy to pull together yet they win friends and influence people just like my chocolate chip cookies do.
I spotted these Valentino sneakers in Saks over the weekend and wondered if they were Neutral, Neutral Plus or Stability shoes.
For $995 per pair, I like to think they are universal in fit and can please any runner’s foot.
The only time of year that I find wearing red and pink acceptable is Valentine’s month.
Let’s talk food shopping….
I want to start OVERFOOD shopping (if that’s a term) on the weekend so that I don’t need to hit the stores again in the middle of the week.
I am convinced that making the random stop during the week for one or two things still costs me more money because I always leave with more than the one or two things.
My problem is that I never buy enough but always think I am buying enough– like sure, this is more than enough vegetables for the week, way too many bananas, plenty of apples…..and then it’s all gone.
And I still keep forgetting at least one thing I need, even with a list.
Like coconut oil. The other day it was coconut oil.
Lucky for us, I had just enough to make these baked donuts.
Get excited. I will be sharing the recipe this week!

**************
Are you in the path of the latest storm right now on the east coast?
Best thing you ate all weekend?
Do you have a specific day that you do your food shopping? Which store do you frequent the most?
DAMNIT! Just realized I never texted you back….okay have written that down for my top of my to do list today. Unless its too late? Ahhh smores, we should have thought of that. Have you tried the smores oreos? We had coldstone this weekend, and I tried a new flavor, I was pretty proud! It was good, but still not as good as birthday cake remix! Stay warm in the snow today!
Ha – not too late! I told you take your time on that topic. No rush! I have a coupon for Cold Stone sitting right here. I realized I can’t remember when I last had it which is not a good thing!
I freaking love smores. I actually went to town on some Graham crackers this weekend and it was pretty fantastic. I used to love when hospitals gave then out—i would hoard them when I had to stay there! I am a bit scared for the state of our groceries when we get home—i think we will essentially have breakfast foods and that’s it…
Have you tried the cinnamon graham crackers from TJ? Those are real good, I haven’t bought them in a while.
We order our groceries online from a local company (I think it’s in Virginia and Maryland right now) and then we just pick them up the next day. It’s SO convenient and they have food from local farmers as well as regular packaged foods. It’s awesome!
We have Peapod and Fresh Direct among a few other delivery services but I have never used it.
Oh man those donuts look delicious! Can’t wait for the recipe 🙂 I agree with the hand/kitchen towels. I have an owl and a cupcake one and I have barely touched them lol 😀
Ohh the cupcake one must be adorable! My friend once bought me a stack of cupcake dish towels and over time I used them…and over time they got ruined.
I actually plan to grocery shop twice because I know the plan for once per week always leads to random stops. Budget wise, splitting the week in two parts makes sense and I’ve been able to save the most this way. I’m also shopping for 5 so my once per week would be quite the workout! I did the same by running 5 miles yesterday since I saw today would be a no-go. And of course, schools are closed again!
For some reason I have a feeling I will never be able to grocery shop once a week.. I like to restock the fresh produce every few days to keep from overbuying and then it going bad. Ah well….School here isn’t closed but I kept my son home anyway because it’s a layer of ice out there. All the districts around us closed, I don’t get it !
I think we are just supposed to get rain here from the storm. I was really wishing for a snow day today since my flight from Arkansas got me home after midnight. But with it being over 40 degrees, I figured that wasn’t happening:)
We have been getting groceries on Saturdays lately so I can prep on Sunday. But with being away this weekend I’ll be going after work today, and its throwing me all off!
It’s an icing mess here! Sleet, freezing rain, ice and snow. It’s awful!
I’m so excited to win the cereal. I embarrassingly love cereal so this is the perfect Valentine’s Day surprise 🙂 hope you have a good Monday!
You had me at smores – they look soon yummy. I actually don’t have a toaster over not even a toaster.
I still can’t believe they turned down froyo. But s’mores are pretty much just as good. You win the mom award again. Now I’m craving marshmallows. I do 90% of my grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s on the weekends. The only time I go to Safeway or Harris Teeter is if I run out of veggies mid-week since TJ’s is 25 minutes away. Glad you’re getting some warmer weather- hopefully it stays warm-ish for when I’m in the city next weekend!
um, should I tell you now they are showing frigid for the weekend? Like a low of 4 degrees?
S’mores look brilliant! We haven’t had one single snow here yet, and I live in Canada (about 2 hours north of Seattle). And as for grocery shopping, if I can keep it to twice per week then I’m happy but yes, that’s rare.
Those smores look amazing! I am having my version of them today, Quest Smores Bar, I think I will bake it too 🙂
I can’t remember if I ever tried that Quest bar. I always liked the double chocolate chunk. I should really buy more of them.
Am I crazy for not being a huge fan of s’mores? Because they never really appealed to me -too- much. Roasted marshmallows? YES. But s’mores? Not really. Feel free to shoot a stank eye my way 😛
Hmm. I never craved smores but I did like them. Crumbs has a smores cupcake that was really good too. Not my most favorite but it was pretty yummy!
OMG S’mores…yummm! And isn’t funny how we get excited for 40 degree temps!?I would have gotten a run in too!;)
40 is like summer these days!
I Hate it when I forget something at the store. It is always something that you MUST have for a recipe you bought a bazillion other things for and you feel like it is such a waste if you just scrap the whole idea because of your forgetfulness! We are about to get blasted here in the Burgh with the oncoming storm…greaaat! Those pizza bites are genius!
