I am so happy that today is Thursday because I have A TON of random things to share with you this morning!
The other day when I had the maintenance crew from my community at my house to fix my closet door (don’t even ask) they let me know that I am known as the Energizer Bunny because of how often and how long I run loops around the neighborhood.
Rather than question this Energizer Bunny name, I just used it as an opportunity to show more people my Hat Tricking race medals.
Guess what I did yesterday?!
It has been over a year since I last took a spin class!
I received a random email on Tuesday from my old gym, Lifetime Fitness, inviting me back for alumni week (read: free guest pass) so I decided this was the perfect week to make use of it!
I am slowly easing back into running so the spin class was perfect for my legs, especially for my hamstrings which have been a bit sore.
I never invested in spin shoes because I certainly don’t take the classes enough and really, I find that the few times that I do take a class, my sneakers fit just fine inside those clip things.
I love spin but it just isn’t running. I am happy to say though that it was the right exercise choice for yesterday because the extra day off from running has made me feel like myself again.
I forgot to tell you something super important:
When I stopped by the Pro Compression booth at the expo to pick up another pair of socks, I mentioned in conversation with the rep that my compression sleeves had ripped that morning when I put them on for the drive to Pennsylvania.
I was not expecting him to REPLACE the sleeves for free! Talk about standing by their products.
I am not even a Pro Compression ambassador or affiliate in any way. Just a runner who likes Pro Compression socks and appreciates quality customer service.
Did you know about these compression socks by the way?
They are part of the Running Skirts product line and I adore their patterns and cuteness but wonder how they compare to Pro Compression.
I want this book because it’s super funny and totally relatable.
I flipped through it briefly while I was in Barnes and Noble over the weekend during my shopping break in Bethlehem.
I was also really excited to spot the cookbook, SERIOUSLY DELISH, recently released by one of my most favorite bloggers, Jessica at How Sweet Eats.
I love reading her posts each day. Aside from the recipes, she cracks me up, reminds me of myself and I just enjoy her so much.
Speaking of recipes, I need to start following some. Like, I need to do something with everything I am pinning or at the very least, get a little more creative come meal time.
I have no issue when it comes to my own personal creativity at cookie time, but dinner lately needs a change.
Cookie recipe to come tomorrow!
I don’t know what I am looking for come dinner time these days. Something different but not involved.
I am thinking about forcing myself to pick one pinned recipe a week. I will let you know if I hold myself to it.
Be sure to check out what everyone else is thinking about today!

What have you been eating for dinner lately?
Do you often cook what you pin on Pinterest?
Ever try those pretty compression socks?
That is really great that they replaced your compression sleeves! I have a pair of pro compression socks that are a few years old and they are ripping. I think it was because I used to put them in the dryer. I haven’t put any newer pairs in there and I think its helped them to last longer
I usually pin stuff when I am planning my meals, so then I usually cook the meal that week and then I may or may not remember to ever cook it again…it kind of depends if I take the time to go back and look at my own boards of pins.
Yeah, they can’t go in the dryer. I did that with my first pair and I think it stretched them out.
I keep a board for recipes I haven’t tried yet. Then the good ones are pinned on special boards like Cookies. Works for me!
That’s what I need to do, make a board for the recipes I haven’t tried yet. And then actually try them.
I never cook what I put on Pinterest. I think the only board that I actually used was the board for my wedding, and even then, not much. It’s more of an ooooo that looks pretty place for me to brain dump.
That’s exactly it – a pretty place to put all the stuff I do nothing with.
I go in spurts with spinning- some months I’ll go 3x a week and others I’ll be lucky if I make it once the entire month! I wish we had a Lifetime Fitness around here, I miss all of the classes! (Although I’m not sure if I could afford their membership fees anyway!)
That’s the thing about Lifetime – the price. It just wasn’t worth the hefty pricetag when my son wasn’t interested in going too and I wanted to run outside more days than I wanted to drive over to the gym. I may reconsider the price next year when he is old enough to actually use the entire gym’s facilities. But even then, ugh the price!
I nearly sent you a picture of my DQ the other day haha, I knew you would be excited for me. Instead I thought I would wait till we go to the froyo place….most likely this weekend. Toppings galore!
I am actually pretty good at making recipes from pinterest, although I probably pin 15 for every 1 I make….does that make me bad?
You should have sent it to me! I totally appreciate a nice picture of dessert. Let’s meet up one day for DQ, the next time you are on the east coast. I haven’t had it forever and always loved a good blizzard.
A company that stands behind their quality and has good customer service…I like that! I rarely ever make pinterest meals because I don’t even have time myself to pin things!
Good customer service is so important!
I really need to get going on pinterest! I’m overwhelmed by yet another social network. I used to look on it for ideas but haven’t posted anything from my website. And I definitely want to read that book 🙂
I really want to read that running book too from cover to cover! It was adorable! Pinterest has always been a favorite of mine even before blogging because I loved the recipes. I don’t always (okay rarely ever) follow the recipes, but I enjoy organizing them.
I’ve been in a bit of a dinner rut lately too. Looking around Pinterest sounds like a good idea, as long as I don’t get sucked in by all the dessert recipes on there!
Ha, you sound like me. I love pinning to my cookies board!
Don’t ask about my dinners — totally uninspired lately. A lot of the time I either end up having a bowl of oatmeal, or a huge tray of baked fries with some salad and chicken. All I can say is thank goodness for Sunday night dinners at my parents’ and leftovers 😆
I am all about the tray of baked fries. Happens most nights of the week over here!
So many of my favorite things in this post. First, Procompression. I’ve tried a lot of compression socks and sleeves and they are by far the best. Running Skirts and the hat trick at the RW Festival. Such an awesome weekend!
It really was a terrific weekend!
I’m a spinning instructor so I’m happy any time some one jumps in the saddle. 🙂 That’s great they replaced your sleeves. I just ordered some Pro Compression Capris this week I hope they are awesome! Those cookies look delish!
You won’ be disappointed with your Pro Compression socks. I love them! I also love spin I just don’t belong to the gym anymore to take the classes like I used to.
I’ve found if I meal plan around my Pinterest acct I’ll knock off many of the recipes I’ve pinned.
Those socks are so cute. I definitely need to get some more compression socks. Maybe I’ll try them.
I’m one of those people though, I always lose one foot of my favorite pair of socks.
If you try them, let me know what you think!
I have been eating leftovers for dinner lately, although I need to get my bucket back in the kitchen and get to cooking again. 🙂
I think being called the Energizer Bunny is a great compliment. You should take it and run with it. Ha, pun intended. Alright sorry, that was bad.
I love spinning, and I’m actually hoping to get back to a class sometime next week. They have bunches of them offered during lunch time at my gym, and now that I’m finally getting back into my workout groove, I would love to check one out.
I hope you’re having a great week!!
Racing at the Pumpkin Run 5K, after running Run for Diamonds 9 Mile course. It is a costume race, if you race in costume you get candy! Have a good weekend!!!!!
Ohhhh have a great time! Let me know how it goes.
