My hormones and I are feeling much better today thank you. In fact, a good venting was all they really seemed to need yesterday as after we spoke, I headed out for a terrific run.
Somewhere in the fourth mile I decided the run was terrific simply because I hadn’t noticed what music was playing in my ear.
Do you know what I mean? Like all of a sudden you wake up and realize what you are listening to, as if you had been asleep or in this case, so tuned into your run that you weren’t at all tuned in to what was blasting in your ears?
I can’t say my music has been right these days though. I don’t know, I go through phases where I love my playlist and then have days where I constantly hit shuffle even when I already have the music set to shuffle.
Part of me keeps considering a run without music at all. I don’t know that I can do it but maybe I will try for a bit tomorrow morning.
Anyway, lots of tids and bits to share with you today. Anyone remember the movie The Other Sister when they ate tids and bits for free? No? Only I remember random movies and random scenes like this?
It’s insane to me that we are over half way through the month of April.
Next Saturday morning (April 26th) is the 20th Parkinson’s Unity Walk in Central Park. Click here to register and learn more. 100% of donations go to Parkinson’s disease research.
It doesn’t feel as though it is almost May because suddenly the weather has reverted back to winter-like temperatures where I am running in four layers again.
I saw this new shirt at Lulu yesterday. I didn’t buy it but I think I really like it.
It’s called the Lightened Up Long Sleeve- the material was super light but seemed perfect for the current weather we are having and especially for those mornings where it should be warm out but isn’t quite warm out and you don’t want to be cold.
Maybe it will go on sale?
Oh, and please let me know if you have ever tried the Lulu underwear.
I didn’t buy them but the sales girl said she loves them and wears them even when not running. Nylon and spandex all of the time? I just don’t know.
I also don’t know how or when I found the time this week to surf the internet much but it seems that I did because I bookmarked a bunch of links I wanted to share with you this morning.

Do you run without music?
If you celebrate Easter, what are you cooking/baking?
Quick – Wendy’s Frosty, McDonald’s Shake or Friendly’s Fribble? Please tell me you have been to Friendly’s!
I can’t run without music because I think too much about how loud I’m breathing! Like “man, I’m really out of shape, do the people I pass hear me panting from miles away?”
I’m going to have to go with Wendy’s. What the heck is Friendly’s?!
It’s just not okay that people outside of NY (or even the northeast) haven’t had the opportunity to experience Friendly’s. It makes me sad. The ice cream sundaes and fribbles (aka shakes) along with the food I grew up on are just something super special. http://www.friendlys.com
Well I checked just to be sure, and there are definitely no friendlys around me. Oklahoma doesn’t have cool places. You know, I’ve never even set eyes upon a Trader Joes…
Ugh, this upsets me. There has to be some sort of cool place out by you for ice cream. Or something. Right?
I love Lulu’s underwear! It’s seriously the most comfortable thing EVER. So silky. And that shirt is lovely — the perfect shade of lilac too! I hate when I head out on a chilly morning run wearing a t-shirt and a pullover because it’s cold, but end up so hot as soon as I get warmed up. I feel as though that shirt would definitely solve the problem!
I know what you mean – I start out cold but after one mile, I am hot so I try not to overdress. I am going to watch this shirt and see if it goes on sale!
Well thank you for convincing me that I need to visit Lulu again. I haven’t been since before Christmas, which is good for my wallet but bad for my wardrobe. I love their clothes, and after the discussion we had about jeans yesterday, I think it’s time for me to visit again. I’ve never tried their underwear, but if it’s anything like their other clothes, then it’s probably amazing.
I try to pick and choose what I spend my money on from Lulu. The pants for running yes, the tops for running yes and then the rest I try to get on sale or just see what’s really worth it.
I feel that running without music is hard unlesssssss you are outside and have a lot to think about, which does happen often !!! I want so many shirts at lulus buttt so expensive 😦
I know right; I wish Lulu wasn’t so pricey. I do well on the sales though on occasion.
I never tried to run without music. When I run, in my head there are no thoughts – only the word of songs. And time passes imperceptibly. Besides good songs inspire me to run quicker 😉 It is pleasant to me Work Bitch by Britney Spears – I show the best time on this song 😀
I love that song too! One of my favorites to listen to while running – I always go faster!
While I often lust over the look of EVERYTHING LULU, I don’t own a single item because of the ridiculous price tags! Maybe one day I will splurge and treat myself to a scuba hoodie or something. That long sleeve is adorable though. I am making Easter dinner tonight, but going completely random on my family. I will have a traditional style side of brussels sprouts and butternut squash roasted with probably some rosemary, but then things are getting crazy. I’m making quinoa with a peanut sauce served over broccoli with ginger. I’m a rebel.
That quinoa dish sounds delicious and sooooo what I love to eat! In fact, I may make it tonight or tomorrow for dinner.
I’ve been dying to visit Lulu. Not a lot of shopping has happened the past 3 months with this foot injury, but now that I’m on the mends a visit is due! Anything always includes music with me. I can’t do any of my fitness without it.
You should definitely treat yourself to something new in the workout apparel department and I vote for something from Lulu.
