I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
I just wanted to pop in and say hello.
The weather here in New York has been quite fickle with a mix of clouds, brief sunshine and random downpours since Friday.
I woke up Saturday morning to a dreary, icky sky.
Thankfully the overnight downpours stopped when it was time for me to run.
My path was filled with puddles at several different points but overall I had an easy and fabulous 12 mile run.
I don’t know exactly what to attribute the greatness of yesterday’s run to but I will gladly take it.
I am still working with the one full bottle of water and one bottle of a mix of water and orange juice. I stopped a few times to hydrate but really didn’t feel the need as much I have during recent runs.
It is possible that the overcast sky was a welcomed relief since lately I have feel like I have been running not only in heat and humidity but with the sun beating down on me.
Or, it is possible that my dinner from Friday night was perfect pre-run fuel.
I met a friend for dinner Friday night at Whole Foods of all places. It was pouring and so crummy out that we opted for the food bar over our original plans which also allowed us to pick up some stuff that we needed.
The Whole Foods Food Bar has yet to disappoint. I loaded up on the roasted sweet potatoes because I find sweet potatoes to be key to my running ability due to their anti-inflammatory properties, complex carbs and muscle recovering qualities.
Don’t ask me what else was in my bowl – not a clue. I just know it was good. And expensive.
How good do these mini chocolate cream pies look? Whole Foods has quite the bakery.
I really need to try one of these pies soon.
No long run day is complete without my Red Mango parfait.
I feel for those of you who do not have a Red Mango location near you. There is no frozen yogurt comparison.
The sun is shining this morning and I am fighting the urge to run in favor of going to Lifetime out of guilt for not utilizing my membership more this month.
I will let you know tomorrow what I decide to do although if you know me by now, you will know already what my decision will be.
Have a great Sunday!
I will be going to the Whole Foods bar for the first time this coming Friday and I am SO excited!! A little nervous for my wallet, but hey, you only live once right? 😉
I’m excited for you!

Yum, I love the Whole Foods hot bar and Red Mango is good, indeed. We don’t have the in Virginia but I had it in New York!
