Hi friends! I just wanted to pop in quickly and say hello!
My friend saw me at the end of my 11 mile run this morning and snapped this picture to prove that not only am I capable of sweating but I am, as she said, glistening.
She also told me that running in the HHH (hazy, hot, humid) is not the best idea.
I knew it was going to be hot. And humid.
I made sure to drink extra water yesterday as well as load up on watermelon and a salty dinner.
I made the above stir fry with sweet potato wedges and avocado with a ton of Trader Joe’s Soy Sauce and Sweet Chili Sauce.
I headed out this morning slightly earlier than usual but it was already super hot.
The first 3-4 miles were not easy. I knew I wouldn’t quit before my minimum of 10 miles but it was tough.
I normally don’t answer phone calls while running but when my phone rang at mile 3, I welcomed it for the distraction.
That call took me to almost mile 6. When I hung up, I sort of fell into my groove, the run became much more comfortable and I made it through till the end.
I stopped for water and my OJ/water mix a few times and kept my pace easy. Not many of my miles fell under 9 min/miles but I didn’t care – long runs are not about speed, they are about endurance.
I am very happy to report that my Asics Gel Nimbus 15’s are working out quite nicely.
We know I hate to jinx things but I can honestly say that they are amazing.
They are comfortable in all of the right spots and are exactly what I look for in a sneaker.
It is as if my feet just fall right into place.
I wish they matched my pink Pro Compression socks but nothing is perfect.
The most important thing is that they are a good fit. And they are.
I am off now to eat some more watermelon and start my day. Enjoy your weekend!
That stir-fry looks amaaazing!! And nice job on the run!! That is great :).
Thank you. I’m always happy when I’m finished lol. My stir frys are so simple yet so delicious I could eat it every day! (And sometimes do).
