Monday already? Geez. Summer weekends go too fast.
I am still on my high from Saturday’s long run.
Which by the way was more like 14 miles because I realized my GPS app was slightly off.
Normally I cross train on Sunday mornings. Not yesterday. Yesterday I woke up ready to run.
I ran six miles and I swear I could have kept going. But I stopped myself. There is always tomorrow.
Which is now today. I will see if I will run again. I really try to vary my workouts to avoid overtraining and dead legs.
Besides running a glorious amount of miles, my weekend looked like this:
I sat by my pool after my run Saturday morning attempting to enjoy the warm sunshine while doing the required readings for my nutrition courses.
Saturdays ALWAYS involve a Red Mango parfait. I went with two cherries on top since I was feeling extra special.
Speaking of cherries, I pushed some off on the boy at his little league game Saturday afternoon.
He likes them, he really does. And who wants concession stand food when it is 90 degrees and you are standing on a hot field?
Do I even need to say what restaurant I was at Saturday night? Surely by now you recognize my salad.
Cheesecake Factory kicked off the birthday week celebrations.
Have you ordered your dessert yet with a side of hot fudge? If not, I insist that you do.
It takes delicious to another level.
Looks good doesn’t it? Thank you.
Now stop looking and get your own. I don’t share.
Perfect weather on Sunday welcomed us back to Lifetime.
I spent the day under a lovely umbrella and the boy spent a few hours between the pool and the waterslide.
I attempted to get a picture of him coming down the slide but all I captured was the splash he made in the water.
Confession: I encouraged the boy to swim laps not just so that I could witness his swimming ability.
No. It was more of a motherly attempt to ensure the day left him good and tired.
Hey, at least swimming is good exercise, yes?
I did treat him to a nice lunch at the café though. I love that all of the food on the Life Café menu is organic and that the meat/poultry is hormone/antibiotic free.
I believe he had a cheeseburger of some kind. The best part of knowing the menu is relatively “healthy” is that I don’t get all over his ordering and allow him to go to town with himself and place his own order.
I may or may not have whispered to the cashier to hold the mayo.
I went with the yogurt parfait. It is simply nonfat yogurt with fresh blueberry puree on top. They give a side of granola and I ask for a side of natural peanut butter to enhance the experience.
They sometimes look at me slightly funny when I ask for peanut butter on the side which doesn’t phase me.
I look at them slightly funny wondering how it is they don’t put peanut butter in their yogurt.
It is rainy here today which is actually fine with me. The beautiful weather is quite distracting these days and somehow it just might be easier to get back to the routine if I am not trying to be outdoors.
Don’t forget that this Wednesday is National Running Day!
And my birthday.
It is never too late to send me an Edible Arrangement.
I need to know:
How was your weekend? Did you have good weather?
How did the races go for my friends that were racing?
Do you put peanut butter in your yogurt?
Once again, I’m totally envious of your Lifetime membership, mostly because of that dang water slide! My inner child is ready to ride one soon. Hooray for the beautiful pool weather though! Yes to cherries instead of concession food. Bleh. Kudos to you for owning your selfish behavior when it comes to dessert sharing. I’m the same way!!! 🙂 Wonderful weather happened this weekend, except for the monsoon thunder storm last night. It made for a great Sunday night though!
It rained here too last night…have you tried out Lifetime before? If not, get yourself to the nearest one for the guest pass!
I keep trying to comment on your posts from my phone and it is just not working. Disgruntled with the WordPress app! Anyway, now that that is off of my chest…
That pool and water slide is calling to my inner 10-year-old. I would have been all over that as a kid. It’s great that the snack cafe offers such healthy options too. Growing up my pool just had a soda machine and the ice cream truck that would come by. I bought many a candy cigarette off of that man… 😉
Remember those candy cigarettes? I think I also had a candy lipstick and nail polish.
Looks like a great summer-y weekend! All your food pics are totally making me drool right now 🙂
Happy Early Birthday!!! 🙂
