Handbag Hunt

I can’t recall the last Memorial Day Weekend that consisted of rain, wind and winter clothes. The temperature yesterday was in the low 50’s with a raw wind and pouring rain throughout the day.

The Little League All-Star game was canceled as was my outdoor long run.

I ended up running an amazing 13 miles though on the treadmill.

I hate the machine so much that I tend to go faster just to be done. It was a great run.

With the weather horrendous, I was kept from the pool with no choice but to go to the mall.

Before heading to the mall though, I needed my Red Mango parfait.

I am considering adding “professional parfait maker” to my resume.

Question for you: Does a girl ever need an excuse to justify the purchase of a new handbag?

I love my classic bag that I whip out every spring for the last several years. I even dangle a cupcake from it.

But, our so-called classic, timeless bags that we think can-never-go-out-of-style have now officially become outdated.

Don’t believe me? Just take a look inside your purses to determine if your so-called timeless handbags are now outdated according to 2013 standards.

You can thank modern technology. You know your bags are outdated when the cell phone slot won’t even hold the phone your grandmother carries.

You can use the slot to hold your gum, but that is about it.

I have started my search for a new, everyday handbag but haven’t found it yet.

While on my purse hunt yesterday in the mall, I popped into the Kate Spade store.

How cute are these popsicle change purses? I don’t need one yet I think I need one.

And you know you are living in a high-tech world when you get excited to see something like this:

A “purse” that holds your iPhone, credit cards and money. Includes a wristlet strap and looks like a tiny handbag.

Comes in pink too.

I thought this was a must have until I questioned not only where the lipstick goes, but what about your keys?

Still kinda cute and maybe something one needs for summer.

The sun is finally shining today but is still a little chilly for sitting by the pool.

I think I will run my errands today since the weather for tomorrow is looking possibly poolish (yes, I made up the word poolish).

Included in my errands is another mall to hopefully complete my handbag hunt.
